What a dumb motherfucker. Any inpatient surgery is going to involve at least an overnight stay and a will generally involve fair bit of recovery time at home (measured in weeks, not days) during which you aren't doing jack shit, at least not at first. You ain't going back on the clock for a good little while. Surely his doctor and surgeon both explained this to him. And he'll soon understand why he would want that post-surgical anesthesia to last as long as possible -- surgery involves slice & dice action and that shit fucking hurts. Feeling "nothing" is superior to feeling "holy fucking shit make it stop." They wire people up to that morphine drip with the magic button right after they leave the post-op ICU for a reason.

In minimal fairness, I will grant that (assuming he actually informed his boss that he was having inpatient surgery and isn't lying about his reaction) his boss was a cunt for being upset about him not coming in one day after inpatient surgery. Shit man, find someone else to flip burgers for a few days, let the guy's stitches come out first, jfc.

Given how he seemed to think this was a quick outpatient thing I'm inclined to think he asked off for one day only. Even a minor surgery like a gallbladder removal takes a week of recovery before the doctor will let you go back to work, and even then you'll be on restrictions on how much you can lift for a few weeks.

I would say I guarantee he was told this was inpatient, but he very likely wasn't, at least not until late in the game. I don't think I was explicitly told the hospitalization status of any of my surgeries until well after they were scheduled. Usually when confirming the date/time with the hospital and along the lines of "you'll need someone to drive you home", rather than "this is an outpatient/inpatient procedure". I didn't need to be told this as I'm not a moron (I Google everything too), but my doctor never told me.

TL:Dr: he may or may not have been explicitly told this was inpatient and if he was he probably forgot or didn't understand. People are stupid, which is why this place exists.

This is something that drives me insane with the troons and the culture enabling them. People treat these self-mutilation journeys like it's some sort of spiritual or self-actualization ritual. Instead of trying to make peace with your flawed, limited human existence, like every other person on earth has to, it's a desperate consumerist chase for external validation, from pronouns through to surgery. It reminds me of all the "Buddhists" that you see in the west who think enlightenment is going to come from the expensive retreat to India or having a 500$ shrine in their home, a desperate search for spiritual truth in the most base material way possible.

With troons, It's almost a parody of actual spiritual practices, this intense and prolonged experience of suffering for superficial falsehood instead of inner truth. I know they reference the Little Mermaid a lot, but the end of that story in the original is that she chooses not to harm the man who's love she cherishes, even after all her suffering leads to nothing, and that final act of selfless sacrifice is what gives her a soul. If the Little Mermaid is a story about being trans, then the moral is that all the suffering these people go through for selfish reasons is ultimately pointless, and it's only by letting it go that they can be fully realized people.

In Christian trinitarian theology Christ is God. There is one God in three parts, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So any reference to God in the Old Testament could refer to one or any parts of God, from a Christian point of view. What you’re saying would make sense from an Islamic mindset however.

Yeah but to my understanding christians aren't expected to follow all the rules of the old testament? Like for example all the food stuff and such that Jewish people are supposed to follow, because Jesus basically came around to die so that you won't go to hell for eating shrimp or whatever
