Man that spergout over people tipping "too late" is one of the scummiest things I've seen Phil do. No self awareness whatsoever, can't comprehend why letting the top tipper name one of the Pokemans in his shit playthrough would incentivize tipping as close to the end of the stream as possible. Down from 3 to 2, "maybe" even 1 stream per week, if you want more, please tip. So he's "a quarter" into a 40 hour game and is gonna play "2 hours" a week. Someone good at math, tell me how many months that is, but be careful, math is forbidden after all.

He said he's only playing the game once next week and if his squadron of idiots don't cough up some money then he's keeping it at only 1 stream. He also said he loves the game and will finish it. Yeah, right. I would give it 2 more $50 streams before he drops it, but you know the 5 or 10 clowns are gonna show up and support it.

Well covid certainly helped his bankruptcy as I highly doubt a normal bankruptcy trial would have resulted in the same result. And at the end of this decade he will be in bankruptcy court again and we will laugh even harder because most of us already think it will happen since Phil is unable to handle money. Just wait until Covid is finally over his income will take a dip as well (I'd wager it will take a dip this year as life is getting more expensive each day thank to Bidenflation)

Hell with the Xbox Gamepass he even got cheaper games out of it. Sure only those on the gamepass but he is definitely milking that as far as he can.

I think it was the other way around this instance.
He wanted to play the game and thought an autism magnet like Mario and Sonic would rake in the wheelchair bucks.
Then when he bought the game and it turned out to be garbage, he tried to save face by lying and saying that he got the game for free anyway.

It's interesting watching him waffle between being like that and being damn near open and transparent about the fact that he's trying to figure out, stream after stream, which games will pry open those retard wallets. He often likes to play it off like he's just following the money, same as anyone else does, but then he goes and makes it obvious that what he really wants is for every game he plays to be a winner in terms of tip intake. He doesn't want to go through so many games that fail to rake in daily gacha funds, it's more work.

Doubtful, because we've observed time and again that his ego is much stronger than his greed, and add onto that the fact that he's not laughing at us with his finances. At all. If a slow stream didn't legit hurt him, he wouldn't be caring so much about us making jokes about it. If he was set for life right now, it wouldn't matter as much, if at all. Any money he's making that isn't so obvious, is going to be very minute, because these days he relies upon displaying as much intake as possible to keep up appearances that he's not a horrible fucking failure who did everything incorrect. Hiding thousands of dollars of income would only happen if Phil had better priorities and wasn't blowing it all on a stupid mobile game.

The fact that he only said he supposedly got it for free after the jokes were made at his expense tells you exactly what the truth is. I doubt he has ever gotten free games, based on the sheer number of times lately he has blatantly lied about receiving anonymous donated items from fans.

I'm not so sure, because Phil didn't really "wind up" in bankruptcy court so much as decide he wanted to use the existence of a bankruptcy system to make his credit card debts go away because he would've had to make sacrifices in order to pay them off like he knew he was supposed to. And the one thing Phil seems to have actually learned from is getting himself deep in CC debt, because thus far we haven't seen any evidence that he's back on credit.

Thing is, I'm not aware of why he got twelve credit cards back in the day, so the difference in those circumstances versus his current situation is probably the real reason, and not a legit change in Phil's level of financial savvy. Especially since he was smart enough to stay away from credit cards ever again, it doesn't make sense he would still fall for mobile games, since he has warned people about BOTH. I expect there was something else that factored into him doing that so many years ago, that, is, through no willful action of his, absent at the present. I haven't the foggiest what that could be, because despite his income since 2020 being in the $100-150k range, Phil is these days seemingly in more need of putting things on credit than ever, thanks to his crippling gacha addiction causing him to let his fucking MORTGAGE slide.

I mean how much more was he burning through, some years ago, if he's currently able to get by without credit in spite of such insane monthly Champions spending?

You can chalk that up to Phil being bitter and a bit hardened by years of having a shit rep, as opposed to Young Phil, who said stupid shit, but wasn't so worn out, he didn't yet know to watch his mouth, and it at least was genuine. He didn't need to be mad to make an ironically entertaining ass of himself, like he does these days. Grumpy Old Phil is way more afraid of over-sharing, indulging in his natural juvenile insensitive humor (aside from the poop talk, the one thing that hasn't gotten him in trouble), and to top of it, has way more rage simmering beneath the surface at all times, after all the years of paying a price for being a stupid asshole.

As a result, his commentary is going to be incredibly forced and sanitized if he can help it, and in the moments where he loses control, his rants are going to be him letting off steam over how much his life sucks, 100% of the time. His clown mode only engages with money being secured or promised, and even that can be broken if he has had to pay a price for it by experiencing a game that he especially hates. Young Phil was offensive, but at least there was joy in it, much of the time. That's dead in him now, his sense of entitlement to a lack of consequences for his actions stabbed it to death and watched it bleed out on the floor with a cold, black-eyed stare.

Sifu from the looks of things he'll wage quit, it's an unforgiving game with an interesting but too complex for grog (and polygon and kotaku) death mechanic which is almost roguelite with a learning curve...a game tailor made for the passionate pro-gamer with amazing skills the one the only DarkSydePhil. I was rewatching some of Metokurs oldest videos, when I stumbled upon a "BrightSideBob" stream, where Metokur does pretty much what our dear commentators do like Piece of Peace and An1337.
And, despite what Phillip keeps saying - he has not changed in any way, other than now he is constantly begging for money between whining. Same excuses, same bitching, still disgusting and still a sore loser.
The stream I was watching is 7 years old and someone probably could just cut Metokurs old commentary on current gameplay and it would work just fine.

The true goal of tipping is Phil getting munny and not having to wait!
