Pantsu is a very weird person so perhaps better Pantsu watchers will be able to explain how this is all normal. But here are some weird things about this pregnancy:
- Lack of reference to prenatal care. Prenatal care ramps up sharply as a woman approaches the end of the pregnancy, going from an appointment perhaps once a month to every few days by the end. I don't think either Pantsu or Ralph has made reference to seeing an OB or a midwife or any care since the last ultrasound, which would have been at 20 weeks.
- No baby stuff. Babies need a lot of stuff. This is a first baby. No crib, no stroller, no car seat, no clothes. Typically people start accumulating this stuff during the pregnancy. There are some cultures that don't because it's bad luck, but Pantsu and Ralph aren't members of those cultures.
- Very Very Trad women would even prioritize making things themselves for the baby. They'd be making booties or receiving blankets or decorating baby's nursery. Pantsu larps as trad with pictures of the food she cooks for Ralph, but nothing that she's doing for the baby. She really doesn't seem excited at all.
- None of the social events that precede childbirth in modern secular culture. No gender reveal? No shower? No excited friends? May be explained by neither of them having any friends.
- Ralph goes off here there and everywhere when typical first-time moms want their partner available in case there are issues with the pregnancy or an early labour. How many women here would be fine with their spouse going off for unnecessary international travel when you're seven months pregnant? May be explained by the fact that they might hate each other.
Anyhow. It's just a weird vibe. I'm hoping someone who knows Pantsu better has some insight into what the heck is going on here. What was Ralph like during Faith's pregnancy? Faith seemed much more normal in her reactions than Pantsu does.
