I think what Jarrod is getting at is that any family can find a way to start growing some of their own food, even if they don't have land. Things like community gardens. And that most people have a large portion of their time dedicated to working outside the home which makes it more difficult to tend to plants or chickens. Things would have to change for it to be feasible for every family to start growing food. He's just using a lot of stupid buzzwords.

If that's what he's saying and I'm not putting words in his mouth, I agree with him, honestly.

Jarrod has a lot of good ideas or objectively correct ideas. Like, more so than any other trancher that posts. His Twitter is usually about mushrooms, wildlife, reasonable sustainability/wanting it, and nature n shit. He just has pronouns disease or as I like to call it "nounsyndrome" which instantly render a person untrustworthy and insane.

So I ran across this troon on social media that eats out of dumpsters and lives on a different troon farm in New York. Expecting another tranch scenario I clicked over to the Eastbrook Community Farm Facebook and was completely shocked to see the amount of produce and meat they're getting out of less than an acre of land.

So it's not the concept of a troon farm that's non-functional. It's the tranch specifically that's managed to screw everything up so badly

I checked out their website, and wow! It looks like they're actually DOING STUFF!!! Lots of enthusiasm and hard work, and no sad alpacas.

It's like they're bring their entire mission swinging around to being some bizarre proxy charity for the Lakota (didn't they claim that donations made TO THEM to forward along were tax deductible or something to try and encourage people to donate, am I misremembering that), and iirc don't they only count as a charity organization for things directly related to their set purpose? What even WAS their set purpose, are they on the books as an alpaca rescue or a tranny rescue?
This seems like it should be a financial clusterfuck and I want to see them get slammed for it.

This post on this very thread from June 2021 shows they're a company, not a charity, despite their claims to the contrary. Just for good measure here is the search as of today, January 31st 2022. (this is the database used to look it up)




No matter what combination of the words "The Tenacious Unicorn Ranch" you enter, they won't show up. The only charity that shows up with the word "Unicorn" is an unrelated children's charity.

Additionally, the IRS database does not have them listed as a tax excempt organization either, so as I understand it, donations to them are not tax deductible (but the American tax system confuses me terribly so I'll leave this for someone smarter than me to confirm)
