Pretty sure they got eaten by dinosaurs because the fat guy fucked with the security code and shut down the electric security fences not because of the bullfrog genes in the dinos, maybe we should start splicing all trannies genomes with bullfrogs, that is the moral I'm getting.
Honestly there were a lot of morals in the story though the largest was Crichton not liking genetics as an idea. Its also that you shouldn't be a cheap bastard to your employees seeing as that's the reason why Nedry acted as he did. Somehow some people got the idea that mucking with the natural order of things is the good and cool thing to do from the movie with genetically monstrous 'dinosaurs' eating the hell out of the unfortunate victims.

Off-topic, but was Hammond cheap or was Nedry just looking for an easy payday?

I love the post where he says that he thought he would sleep around and be a hoe after he got his neovagina, but then changed his mind when he found his current boyfriend.

Yes, I'm sure *that's* the real reason you're not a slut right now. You just love your boyfriend so much! It's not the fact that you have a painful, gaping wound that 99% of men refuse to look at, much less fuck. :story:
I know plenty of young, effeminate gay men who love hoeing around. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t do that instead. Is it all just internalized homophobia?

The book indicated that Hammond was cheaping out on a lot of the park's maintenance and in the case of Nedry got him to do extremely difficult work for a comparatively low salary because of how much the latter owed in debt. The movie Hammond is less of a sleaze and the most Nedry mentions of it is complaining about his salary and workload so its hard to say. In the end Nedry still puts all the park and visitors in mortal danger to get paid by a rival so his death is pretty karmatic.

Book Hammond got eaten alive by a pack of Compsognathus, that's why the second movie featured not one but two deaths by the little critters.

Yes. As an HSTS, his problem is that he internalized the idea that if he had been born a girl, all the behaviors he was punished for as a kid would have been ok.

So genetic mosaicism is a thing , but it is extremely rare and doesn't make someone "multiple people" inside. The body of an organism with genetic mosaicism contains distinct genotypes between different cells, but they aren't from distinct individuals, they are all interrelated to the genetic material that was available at conception (unless it's a deliberately made one in a lab). It's one of the few ways humans develop as true hermaphrodites (assuming an XX/XY mosaic), with both types of gonadal tissues (ie. ovotestes) present. Usually they won't have a penis, but will display hyperandrogenism (example: Foekje Dillema).
You could argue that mosaicism isn’t particularly rare (I mean, you could describe all females as being mosaics because of X inactivation. Just another thing transwomen will never have)

Calico says: you will never be a woman

I am curious, how would you even wind up with XX/XY mosaicism (as opposed to XX/XO or XY/XXY) though? I understand it in chimerism when you swallow a twin or something but otherwise how does it happen?

I am so tired of these people appropriating conditions and lying. Of course, absorbing a female twin is a good metaphor for MTF troonery overall, but even if it happened (which it didn’t) it doesn’t make him a woman.

I agree.

Look, getting breasts isn't fun. All of a sudden you're told to cover up (which is a whole other discussion in and of itself which I'm not going to start here), they're annoying and heavy and get in the way of basic tasks. The slightest variety from the norm makes you feel like they're an abomination. Gross older men look at you like you owe them something and gross teenage boys think they can ogle them like they're public property.

All of that to say: I get why an eighteen year old would like to get rid of her tits. I've known many women who would have. Hell, I was one of them. But a normal person that gets cause and effect, knows why that is a bad idea. They perform a vital function in feeding offspring. Babies used to die without their mother around, because there was literally no milk to be had. And even though formula is around nowadays - and Nestlé did it's best to sway public opinion - : breast still is best.

Next to that, they also play a big role in personal intimacy (sexual as well as during nursing). You know that when you 'yeet the teet' (god, that sounds retarded), you sign up for losing all of that. Not only with a full mastectomy, that also goes for regular breast reduction.

At eighteen you understand those consequences. Otherwise a lot more teen girls would get breast surgeries, is what I'm trying to say.

At 18 you don't understand shit. You might be an adult or almost an adult in the eyes of the law but your life experience and understanding of what it means to be an adult, or think that far into the future with mature reason and reflection, is still utter garbage. Your brain isn't fully formed and you're still high on reckless youth.

Teen girls don't get breast surgeries more frequently because if they don't have a troon label slapped on them, Doctors will actively question their decisions and in may cases flatly refuse. See all the women who can't get sterilized, don't have their pcos taken seriously, can't get breast reductions, etc. either because 'you'll change your mind' or 'it's cosmetic'. The bodies of healthy women are medically policed but she walked in with a trans label and suddenly medical safeguarding is thrown out the window in pursuit of authentic self in what is no doubt a mentally unwell woman.

Honestly great input.

Agree to all of this. The childfree groups twenty years ago were filled with women in their twenties and thirties who couldn't get their tubes tied, the reason was always "you might regret it".

Many of these women were victims of child abuse or had genetic issues they didn’t want to pass on. Others had known from childhood they didn't want to be a mother. Others, it probably was a passing fad. People are complicated.

Or if they could find a doctor, they often had to get their husband's permission. Some women were told no because they were unmarried and their future husband might want a child, even when they told the doctor that was a deal breaker for them, they were denied.

The older women in the community, the ones in their 40s or late 30s who did get their tubes tied said they never regretted it, or if they did it was a temporary regret that went away (usually because someone they know had a baby). Obviously there's a self-selection bias there, because unhappy women aren't going to join a childfree group, but I'm curious what the actual regret stats for tubals are, broken down by number of children. Do women who have no children when they get sterilized actually go on to regret it enough to justify denying it?

They made lists of doctors who would do these operations on childless women, what ages they were done at, and so forth.

I only hung out in the community for a year or so because the level of toxicity and hatred was too much, but this was a frequent topic, as evedenced by my remembering this much detail twenty years later.

I'm curious now if the childfree groups now tell women to claim to be trans, because all that safeguarding done "for the good of the woman" seems to get thrown out the window. If they do I imagine it's done in private, as I'm sure the communities are now infested with TIFs (TIMs all seem to have a pregnancy fetish) who would REEEEEEEEEEEE about lying about a ~srs medkil condtin~.

Thing is, tubals are far more “reversible” than what these young girls are getting, in that you can usually still get pregnant after a tubal even without doing anything to try to physically reverse it (it just requires IVF, so in other words pregnancy is expensive and requires more difficult steps but it is still physically possible).

Whereas plenty of these “trans” teenage girls are getting hysterectomies. You can’t come back from those if you change your mind.

Hysterectomy also has long term negative physical side effects, whether it’s partial (uterus only) or full (uterus and ovaries and the rest). It’s a major surgery, and doctors have been trying to do fewer of them as a treatment for gynecological conditions because they have so many negative outcomes.

I stand with doctors on not sterilizing women under 25 unless they have truly horrendous genetic conditions or whatever. It’s not absurd to say a lot of 18 year olds who don’t want kids will change their mind. So the fact that doctors will do this on FTMs is just ???. I’ve seen it being done to minors! What is the ethical justification for this?

An XXY Zygote splitting into two distinct lines of XX and XY, related to Klinefelter syndrome where the mosaic is XXY/XY. That's what they think happened in Foekje Dillema's case, where researchers went and located genetic material way after the fact and found that she was an almost 50/50 split, right down to the skin cells.

There's also the potential for 2 zygotes aggregating into a single embryo, essentially fraternal twins glued together, but technically that's a chimera, like you said. It doesn't produce the 50/50 split that researchers saw in Dillema's case.

I note the even in the article I quoted, the researchers say

We would like to emphasise that the term hermaphrodite, as well as other terms such as intersex, need to be replaced by the DSDs classification proposed by consensus in 2006,13 for the simple reason that the terms hermaphrodite and intersex cannot, and should not, be applied to human individuals. Instead, a true hermaphrodite is correctly referred to as either a female or male individual with ovotesticular DSD

Foekje was registered and raised as a girl/woman, and there was never any indication that she operated as anything else. She never acquiesced to an inspection of her body, so it's possible that she had ambiguous genitalia, but most people with ovotesticular DSD are raised female. People with DSDs are the one case where there is a little bit of messiness when it comes to how to identify them, but it doesn't come from the same place as trans nonsense. It's essentially coopting the DSD experience.

My bad for not clicking the link I suppose! That’s gotta be stunningly rare, though, right? First you have the already-low odds of Klinefelter and then the odds of splitting along those exact lines.

But I am 100% sure that at least two dozen trans Redditors will claim to have that exact condition in the next 6 months alone (and will all somehow just happen to be phenotypically male)

I agree with the people in the article that the name “true hermaphrodite” is stupidly misleading. Humans can’t be hermaphrodites, and it’s also just a weird dehumanizing term (except if you’re a troon I suppose).

There was a survey done by PRRI last year, I linked it quite a while back, I can find it again if people want it, that said most people across party lines agreed that trans people should not be discriminated against, but they should pee in bathrooms of their natal sex, play sports in their natal sex, and go to prison in their natal sex.
Honestly I genuinely think that the majority of us tranny haters wouldn't actually be that hostile towards them if that was their overall aim, but AGPs and Narcs and Cluster B's and other fucking weirdos as well as the constant infighting within the LGBT commuity has made it actually impossible for the trannies to even unite on ONE common purpose that would cause unity. Everyone's out for themselves and willing to fuck over the entire collective over someone's feelings getting hurt.

I still think even if they did come up with a reasonable common goal it wouldn't end well. The current trans movement is putting a rottweiler in a cage with a child. Sure I mean it MIGHT not massacre the child, but I'm not taking that risk.

I remember checking out childfree groups just a few years ago (back when I was thinking of getting the snip) and noticed the exact same reaction. Without doxxing myself, every single medical website in my country relating to getting a vasectomy ENCOURAGES you to have at least one or more kids first. A single straight man with no kids getting his testes burnt off is somehow a cause for concern but put a wig on 'her' and oh boy, cut the whole fucking thing off and turn it inside out.

Yes, I don't remember where I read this but even with chimerism, which is more common in nature, there's still been only a few dozen recorded cases in humans.

It's such bullshit that troons use DSDs to validate their nonsense. Intersex advocates have spent decades arguing the fact that their conditions didn't make them not men and women. And you have these idiots arguing that these conditions they don't even have does make them gender aliens.
