Telling troons to dilate is one of those perfect memes that says so much with so little. Dilating is supposedly so painful that trannies will cry, scream, and pass out from it- some will abandon all hope of maintaining this schedule within a year, most within five years. It points out that the one's who have the surgery have to do a time consuming chore that a normal human woman doesn't require. The anger people were experiencing was real, but as mainstream society began to take notice and respond (and with AIDS, it has objectively responded quite well to the problem), these same people got all bent out of shape that gays were being normalized. Act Up and Queer Nation both protested Don't Ask, Don't Tell, but Sycamore is one of many of these radical queers to later decry gay people serving in the military as assimilationist. For them, the issue wasn't material reality, it was the way the righteous anger at the world made them feel. They felt superior to "procreation and heterosexuality" through their anger. Many of these people are sort of victims of their own success, who have latched on to this new trans wave as a way to recapture that Robespierre like revolutionary zeal that they miss. It wasn't hard for AGP people to sneak into the movement and poison it at that point, because it was all about sticking it to the normies.

I find it impossible to believe these stories where the parent says the child self-identified as a girl at age 2. Toddlers at that age can speak at best a few dozen words and are just starting to recognize people other than their parents. How would he even understand the abstract concept of "girl" yet, or that he wasn't one? The child could be choosing to play with toys that are non-typical for their gender, but that is it.
