No, no wait I think you’re on to something…that’s actually a great “counter-arguement”. The Holocaust is such an extreme that it would be nearly impossible for anyone to not reply with “woah wait it wasn’t THAT serious…” and then you keep insisting that NO IT TOTALLY WAS. It either forces them to admit that it really wasn’t that bad, or gets them to limply agree only to then be attacked by their fellow in-group for daring to hold the “suffering” of a bunch of rich old fucks as equivalent to God’s chosen people.

The problem they’re having is that other than the absolute insane ultraleft and the Boomer and Silent Gen politicians who are terrified of saying no to them, the entire rest of the country perceives the energy of the Trump admin as being Trumpian, not Republican. Like everyone does. The vast majority of Dems do, independents, and even actual Republicans. Those who like Trump would say it was Trumpian, and so would those who don’t.
So, if you were a Biden voter and not in the sliver of the far left, you almost surely intended to vote for a return to “normalcy” after the chaotic years, and the chaos you wish to escape *includes BLAntifa* and other Dem excesses. They weren’t voting for BLAntifa and troonery, they were voting for removal of Trumpian chaos.
And then what did you get? You got an administration that seems to have no idea why it was elected. Instead of grasping that a return to normalcy was desired they appear to have received a message saying “the only abnormal insane shit we want GONE is Trump shit, we LOVE all y’all’s leftist bullshit! Please keep rioting and making demands and indoctrinating our kids, in fact accelerate!”
I wonder sometimes if part of the institutional capture is that all these decrepit Dems in office who should’ve retired long ago decided along the way that they were perfectly ok being an 85-yo MoC, they just needed to hire some youthful staff! But being technologically and culturally illiterate, the Youths (and it’s gotten more zealous as Millennials gave way to Gen Z) have treated them like liberals used to say they treated their grandparents. Remember those Dems going “grandpa wanted me to fix his cable so I did and I took the opportunity to block Fox News lmao he just thinks his cable company dropped it!”?
Same thing here. I think Pelosi and the rest have outsourced their comprehension of modern life to a bunch of indoctrinated Gen Z cultists. Thing is, in addition to blacks, LGBs, commies, troons, and teachers‘ unions, Dangerhairs/Queers (same thing really) and those with those leanings *are yet another special interest group* for the Dems. That’s the portion of the under 35s who are voting for them. What they want is as extreme and incongruent with the needs of other parts of their constituency as the others.
Meanwhile 80% of the party leans more toward grilling than grifting, and Dems are losing them while they pander to these howling hyenas.
And this energy is not perceived as belonging to an individual, like Trumpian energy. No, this negative undesirable energy is perceived as *the Democratic Party*. Because they feed it and won’t denounce it, they own it.
