My understanding is that it's basically just the furry version of the other survival/RPG games that have been coming out lately, but I'm not nearly autistic enough to buy it on steam to fully confirm this.

As far as I know, no though I've heard that there are mods that can turn Conan Exiles into basically the same thing without the furry shit. I'm inclined to believe this since I know there were Skyrim mods that could. Other than that it seems like most games aimed at non-furry coomers tend to favor the eroge style over "realistic" graphics.

The trend of all X games is, what if we do X game, but with porn?

I mean, most games are just X but with porn here and there. It's more or less the same formula no matter what: take something that works and it's easy and just add porn scenes here and there

Also, most porn games end up being puzzle games or match 3 games. Not only Huniepop and Mirror, there is also Isekai Quest and if you really want a time waster, there is Mojo. I also found recently Lewd Apocalypse with is a bootleg Residen Evil with titties. It's essentially a meme game with really cringeworthy dialogue and retarded crap, but damn if i had a good laugh watching videos of it.

And now that we talk about Hunipop, i remember the huge stinker that happened in Huniepop 2 when it was announced there would be a tranny in the game and most of the fans were up in arms either demanding no tranny dick or talking in favour of tranny dick. Even the decision of the dev of leaving the decision up to the player didn't pleased most people, with the pro troon becoming the most whiny. I even remember how Lilith Lovett (of course he is in this) complained about how porn and trannies in porn were something people had to accept and was good and shiet.

I don't even like 3d fighters but I was able to score a legit copy of it at a con for pretty cheap, like, twenty bucks, so I picked it up more out of the principle of legit paying for legit physical media of some weird moon game instead of just pirating it like usual.

Apparently, the devs and the publisher were interested in making some sort of blockchain for some crypto bullshit and apparently, the game is in the freezer or development has slowed to a crawl while most patreon money is invested into making the crypto shit.

This. Rance series and some niche VNs are probably the best option since most crap out there just goes down the deep end in degeneracy, with more stuff cranking it up even more than the previous one. I really hate to post this, but it is what it is; this will be, absolutely, objectively, the final delay for Future Fragments, and you'll see why when you read it.

Inside of the post is a list of the things we have yet to get done, in pretty robust detail; I encourage you all to read it so you know what's left, as well as the new, final, unchangeable date we'll be submitting it to Steam.

If we don't submit to Steam by December 31st, 2021 or EARLIER (as we will be trying to get it out much earlier than that), the game will BE RELEASED FOR FREE.

In regards to us claiming we would release the game for free in our last announcement: it was a stupid thing to promise that. Period.
It's something we'll never do again, and we did it to pressure ourselves to work even harder with that looming on the horizon.


But we realized that to release the game free, when we're already shouldering a $40,000+ debt would just prevent us from even starting work on Faye's game, let alone any other future games, as we'd need to get other jobs to pay that debt off.


That said, we don't want to release the game incomplete, even if it means going more into debt. We're only going to release Future Fragments when, at the very minimum, all core content is complete. (Yes, there will be DLC and yes, it will be free.)

So it's not going to be free and there isn't going to be any DLC.
Keep in mind that if you were a patron since 2016, you would have given a minimum of $60, $300, or if you wanted your name in the credits, $600.
All for a game that, after five years of development, only recently decided that 28 different endings was too many and it should cut some stuff out.

There's some deep lore on other yandev-tier porn game developers.

That's another side effect of middle market and AAA devs being scared away from porn. Indie devs are going to make something that appeals to their niche, both for author appeal, and as a way to stand out from the crowd.

Even if we ignore that, vanilla has a huge problem when it comes to gameplay. Trying to add sex to a game that isn't match 3 or a visual novel is difficult without it becoming rape, some disgusting fetish, or including some ridiculous lore.
