Twitter upset over Logan Paul ruining Game Boy Colors

Twitter users are furious with Logan Paul after his DIY TikTok reveals 15 Game Boy Colors ruined by epoxy resin.

The internet is once again upset with Logan Paul, and this time it’s because of a DIY project involving several Game Boy Colors. The older Paul brother is facing severe backlash on Twitter after “ruining” 15 Game Boys.


Logan Paul and Nintendo fans haven’t always seen eye to eye, and it’s mainly due to his extravagant purchases of vintage collector’s items. More specifically, Logan has received negative attention from Pokemon card collectors.

Earlier this year, the Pokemon trading card community slammed Paul for wearing an incredibly rare card as a necklace to his fight against Mayweather. The trading card community also blames Paul for impacting sale prices on vintage cards. Even when he chooses to spend $3.5 million on cards, the internet has a negative response.

Now, Logan Paul has chosen to upset another community of vintage collectors by ruining 15 Game Boy Colors. Retro gaming enthusiasts have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment in Paul’s latest art project.

Logan Paul recently posted a TikTok where he soaks several Game Boy Colors in resin and then turns them into a tabletop. Many people were impressed by Paul’s ability to create this piece, but there are also plenty of people who aren’t as impressed.

Bob Wulff, a notable retro gamer and YouTuber, was among many to criticize Logan Paul’s DIY project. Many stated that Paul had ruined pieces of history and pointed out that a few of the Game Boys were limited/special editions.

Game Boys tend to sell for around $70 USD on Ebay and Amazon. Yet, they can sell for hundreds of dollars depending on their condition and rarity. But to someone like Logan, who is willing to spend millions of dollars on Pokemon cards, a few thousand dollars for 15 Game Boys might not seem like much.

Regardless, retro collectors on Twitter aren’t upset with Paul buying the Game Boy Colors. Instead, they are upset with how he chose to ruin the Game Boys instead of preserving them.

Hell, you don't even need a Game Boy anymore. An Analog Pocket costs $199.99 USD and plays the entire GB/GBC/GBA libraries if you want one. I would be more upset if it were a 3DS as those could fetch a high price on eBay, especially if they are collector editions. I should know because my old 3DS XL broke and it was difficult to find one for a semi-reasonable price. Thankfully, I found a used 2DS XL and the old one worked well enough to do a system transfer.

Nigga I go to flea markets and see old Gameboy colors being sold by the lot. I know because I used to buy them, fix them up, and sell them to a local retro game store as a teen for cash. These may have sentimental value, but they are not historical artefacts. Wait another century or nine and we may see again after that.

Technically they had to bump the price by $20 so it's $220, and by now I believe orders are open but you'll be stuck in the 2023 fulfillment group. But yes it does look like a nice piece of hardware and I'd consider it if I wouldn't be prepaying by so long say I might forget I purchased it by the time it arrived.

Not to be too shilly, but depending on how much you care about quality RetroMimi has RetroGear 300s and LDKs in stock for about $50 right now, with more options going up to $230. Nowhere near as nice as the Analog Pocket, they don't run real cartridges so they're undeniably piracy devices, but they can be had in about a month based on shipping.

And that's before considering how GBC emulation is so easy. Even GBA is pretty well covered except for some edge cases, and even phones can run these things.

Last I paid attention, phones could run DS too but it was more iffy. Low performance and needed a bios rip. But I would not be surprised if it we've even got those covered.

Now if this was a rare game cartridge that was never properly dumped, that would be another story and an actual tragedy.
