🐱 J.K. Rowling Just Won’t Stop Attacking Trans People Online

J.K. Rowling is apparently still fixated on portraying transgender women as predators.
In a tweet on Sunday, the Harry Potter author attacked reporting that police in Scotland would record rapes as being committed by a woman if the assailant identifies as female. “War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength,” Rowling tweeted. “The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman.”

The comment is only the latest in a string of efforts by the once-beloved author to amplify a narrative that’s not only essentially false but also ignores the devastatingly high level of violence experienced by trans people.
In June 2020, Rowling published a 3,700-word essay about what her fears around what she called the “new trans activism,” accusing trans people of “pushing to erode the legal definition of sex and replace it with gender.” That essay quickly sparked accusations that Rowling was a TERF, or trans-exclusive radical feminist, as Rowling drew on her own experience as a sexual assault survivor to suggest that trans women are a threat to cisgender women.

In the year-plus since, Rowling has sporadically implied that trans people and those who advocate for their rights are dangerous.
But Rowling’s narrative—that trans people are somehow perpetuating an Orwellian takeover—is misleading on multiple fronts. It obscures the fact that it’s cis men, not trans women, who regular commit sexual assault. Only a fraction of a percent of U.S. adults identify as transgender—yet almost one in five women have experienced completed or attempted rape, according to the Centers for Disease Control. (One in 38 men have experienced the same.) For anyone trying to pin the epidemic of assault on trans people, the numbers just don’t add up.
“People will say from one side of their mouth that trans women are an incredibly small part of the population and that the world shouldn't bend to their desires, but will then say that we are so influential and powerful that we must be stopped; specifically to save women from rape,” YouTuber Kat Blaque tweeted after Rowling’s comments.
Blaque added, “Are the only people capable of rape and sexual assault men? Would you define rape solely by penetration? Is sexual violence inherently male?”

Trans people also face a staggering amount of violence. In a 2015 survey of nearly 28,000 trans adults living in the United States, the National Center for Transgender Equality found that 47 percent of respondents said that they had been sexually assaulted in their life. So far in 2021, at least 50 transgender or gender non-conforming people have been violently killed, according to a tally by the Human Rights Campaign.
Compared to cisgender people, trans people are more than four times more likely than cisgender people to experience what the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, in a 2021 study, called “violent victimization.” That includes becoming victims of assault and rape.
“The biggest threats of violence against women has always been cis gender men,” Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness tweeted. “Not trans women, unless JK’s constant transphobic cherry picked vitriol convinces you otherwise. But as trans women are assaulted, deprived of work, killed, and raped JK is safe in her mansion.”

So, do you guys like Harry Potter? Don't be shy to admit it, I do. It's acceptable reading material, and it's refreshing that J.K. actually sticks with her beliefs and principles regardless of all this bullshit.

A wizard is born a wizard and can never be a witch. A witch is born a witch and can never be a wizard.

She was literally talking about rapists who have trooned out and how their victims have been ordered to call them "women."

And VICE is defending the rapists.

We live in a fucking cartoon..

She's doing her part to get that number from 41% up to at least 50%. I for one applaud her efforts.

Honestly, I always love the JK Rowling stuff. The part that is always at the forefront is how Harry Potter is for whatever stupid reason some kind of progressive bible, so every time Rowling says something they can't possibly conceive as agreeable they have to have a meltdown and justify separating the artist from the art which is something they never ever do for anyone they disagree with which is just hilarious. The other half is how Rowling was considered some kind of left wing hero and let it go to her head, but because she has her foot halfway in logic regarding tranny rapist she has to endure fighting the very beast she was a part of and maybe consider how maybe it wasn't a proper thing to be.

In the end they are both extremely up their own ass and their infighting leads to frustration and unhappiness for them that makes me happy. I can still give Rowling credit for not flipping on the issue to appease the crowd - it is incredibly rare that a rich celebrity isn't an autonomaton who does nothing but parrot whatever progressive talking point is most popular.

Has anyone figured out her ID here?

I hope J.K Rowling has seen the future, as most not caught in the social contagion have, that history will vindicate her so that she sticks to her guns... Or just accepts that she has enough fuck-you money and will accept 'those people' not liking her. People who can't separate the artists from their art and many of them, sadly, have Harry Potter as a foundational part of their personality; so it hurts them especially. Delicious.

I just wish Tolkien were still around so he could do the same thing but about more issues to an older audience...

kek

JK Rowling is like the Mel Gibson for trannies, she just can't stop winding them up no matter what she does.
Well, troons have poor taste in pretty much everything and thought Harry Potter was the greatest fucking thing known to man - So when they found the author doesn't like MTF's complaining about the cotton ceiling it caused them to meltdown in a sputtering rage... Because, I mean, they can't enjoy something that is slightly problematic to some degree.

For being so angry about this and having this burning passion over one woman's tweets, you think these people would have the drive to attempt passing. But nope, it's all just sad chunky men with beards wearing dresses putting only effort into ten thousand word articles about how an old woman made them feel bad for being hideous.

Now she just needs to disown Cursed Child and the niggerwashing of Hermione, then maybe the franchise can start to become palatable again. I doubt it though, especially with the talks of a TV series being made, as soon as you see a darker skinned Hermione (even an interracial mutt one) you will know if it's passed saving or not.

I've neither read the books nor watched the films but this lady clearly knows how to lure a villain into revealing himself for the shitbag he is. Absolutely, defend the rapist. Insist it was a girl's penis.

There is no contradiction there. It only takes one rapey troon to make the female prisons a living hell.
