Masculinity hasn't been "attacked", though. Not really. Masculinity and masculine men are still idolized in society, etc., it's just that there has been a widening exception for more and different expressions of masculinity and ways to be a man, and more pushback against the more toxic aspects of traditional masculinity (misogyny, domestic abuse, etc). I don't necessarily disagree with all of your factors (though I think the anime watching is more of an issue than the video games), but I think you missed the single biggest one: Pornography. Trans ideology has risen roughly at the same rate at which extreme, violent pornography has become more and more easily accessible. It's a known, studied phenomenon that repeated porn use correlates with use of more and more extreme pornography as the brain gets less and less stimulus out of the same old material. Repeated porn use also correlates with the development of paraphilias, which autogynephilia is one of. The ability to access the most degrading, misogynistic torture porn you can imagine in seconds on your cellphone for free and the encouragement, particularly among liberal feminists, to watch for hours a day has contributed to any number of problems faced by modern men and boys (see: the rise in ED experienced by increasingly younger men who are addicted to porn, younger and younger male children raping their female classmates and little sisters, etc), trans ideology among them.

Trans ideology is based in hardcore misogyny. It is based on reducing womanhood down to misogynistic stereotypes drawn straight from pornography, the presumption that men can understand womanhood sufficiently to become one, the pervasive idea that women are merely sex objects, etc. Excessive pornography use has a lot to do with "teaching" these men those stereotypes... and then they lose sensation from that stuff and move onto, say, sissy porn, where they're taught that embodying those stereotypes will make them women. And so on.

I guess that could count as modern technology, but I felt like it should be more emphasized because I truly believe the ready availability of extreme pornography is a huge contributor to the rise of trans ideology.

And again I have to disagree, because this only works if your entire view of trans are based on the incel to troon pipeline. The most annoying part of reading this thread is people trying to find the main cause of troonery. It ends up with autists blaming faggots and women, and the gender crits blaming the patriarchy and coomers. Both are incredibly reductive and only make sense within your specific bubbles. Translation: this is a man that saw his fellow men and listened to how they talked about the women they liked. When he realized that his feelings and thoughts toward women were different, he realized that he wasn't a typical man. For some fucking reason, instead of just accepting that he didn't fit gender norms, he instead said "I am not a man at all. I think differently than the typical man therefore I am a woman."

It's like he was looking for an excuse to not be a cis man because he felt so unlike his peers. I hate to be a Tim Pool and take a fence sitting position, but it's a nice fence, so here is my two cents:

We know it is mental illness. No normal man or woman wants to be the opposite gender enough to chop off body parts and Frankenstein others. But I think it can be both, patriarchal elements that men benefit from that women idealize (or inversely, men failing to live to the standards set by the standard of masculinity), but it can also be the fault gay people wanting to fetishize themselves to the extreme, or the fault of women pampering and demasculinizing their sons into weak men.

I will admit, I can't really see the opposition argument, which is why my statement kind of falls apart towards the end, but I hope it's at least understandable enough for my point to get across. I don't think there is one answer, but a varying range of various internal and external influences that have some correlation, but no set list of similarities.

I'd say that in that specific instance then yes you are right, that clamping down on rapists or women beaters is a good thing and should continue. That is not how everyone defines toxic masculinity though. Western progressive values do tend to demonize traits that are traditionally masculine whether or not they are harmful.

Depression and being socially maladjusted are very common themes in the trannies we have seen here. You don't necessarily need porn for that to happen.
