Despite what a lot of online commentators have mentioned, I don't think the whole "left handed" thing would be a good route to take, because that might seem to the jury that the defense is conceding that what's pictured does indeed look like Kyle pointing a rifle, whereas I think they shouldn't even come close to acknowledging as such.

If there's any AR owners on the jury who are somehow also anti-Rittenhouse, they can point out a one-point sling (the one Kyle was wearing), can almost effortlessly transition from one shoulder to another.

That said, that transition happens in the space of a few frames, in less than a second. I doubt professional competition shooters can transition shoulders that quickly.

Funny thing about this interaction is yellow pants guy could have easily saw Kyle with this group and assumed he pointed a gun at the guy on the car which is why Kyle sarcastically said "i did" , also explains why he thought kyle did it assuming he said that in good faith.

The best bet for the defense, IMO, is to harp on the blurriness of the screencap, the threshold for reasonable doubt, and make a point of the fact that the prosecution has no witnesses that can testify to seeing what they've alleged in person, and that they for some reason have neglected to bring Ziminsky to the stand.

Don't forget, there's video of the shooting that shows Kyle at the moment the Prosecution is alleging Kyle pointed his rifle at Ziminsky, and I've heard but never confirmed that the same video is already in evidence so they can use it to help debunk it.

Lawyers are like doctors. They chose a focus 20 years ago and forgot about everything else they've learned. He might just be overstretching unless you find something really good.

I've got lawyers in the family and they know absolutely nothing about things a few degrees of separation from their specialty, and will happily admit this (unless its your sister and she needs to win a fucking argument about fucking 16th century Japan at the dinner table). What if, with all the evidence pointing to self-defense, he still gets convicted of murder?

The law is working as far as the Rittenhouse case is concerned. He killed two people, he needs to be run through a jury to determine if this was justified alongside the other defense claims. An incident of the law not working was the Portland shooter killing some Patriot Prayer dude in cold blood and the police and courts literally doing nothing while the guy was doing interviews with VICE. It took Donald Trump or Barr to put a boot into someone's ass at the Federal level to get any action on that guy and it ended with him getting into a shootout with US Marshals sent to arrest him. I have absolutely no problem with Rittenhouse being arrested and run through the legal system. What I do take offense to is the clear bias some of these cities have taken towards conservatives and leftist rioters. Portland is particularly notorious for this kind of action as it drops charges daily against leftist rioters and punishes "conservatives" who engage in self defense or mutual combat.

Even if Rittenhouse loses its not an indicator that the law is not working, he is easily the most high profile incident of the riots, what is an indicator of the law not working is the lack of other cases for property belonging to entity other than the government. I've not gone and looked but far as I am aware; the only two people charged over the riots was Rittenhouse which roped in Zimineski as he was visible on video firing his pistol and this was known maybe a day or two later. I checked my chat logs for the night and I had maybe 70% of the relevant footage and Zimineski was already identified by that point, though as "Alex Blaire" or some such, which I believe to be his porn stage name.

What I do fully expect is Legal Eagle or someone similar to ape the shit out of Nick's stream format the next major trial.

And no Monday is closing arguments, if they come back Monday evening with a verdict... I'm not sure if that would be really good or really bad.
