Crime Joggers being raycist against Asians megathread

I was about to post a couple more articles on Asians getting beat/murdered by Joggers but realized it’s becomes such a common occurrence in MAGA country, ie Chicago, Detroit, New York, etc., that it’s probably best to make a mega thread instead.

Look out for articles that mention an Asian was attacked but is mum about the ethnicity of the attacker. They could be anyone, but it’ll be interesting to track.

24-year-old who recently earned his master's from University of Chicago is shot, killed in Hyde Park

1636817729015.jpeg
Friends and community members gathered on Wednesday evening to light candles and leave notes and flowers in an area in Hyde Park where a University of Chicago graduate was shot and killed during a robbery.

What happened: On Tuesday, Shaoxiong “Dennis” Zheng, 24, was on the sidewalk on the 900 block of East 54th Place, an area known as a neighborhood of doctors and professors, before 2 p.m., when the deadly attempted robbery occurred, CBS Chicago reported.

  • Witnesses recalled seeing a man with a mask in a black hooded sweatshirt get out of a car that pulled up to where Zheng was walking. A brief struggle ensued before the suspect fatally shot Zheng in the chest, according to Chicago Tribune.
  • The suspect immediately fled in a dark-colored sports car. It was not made clear if the gunman managed to take anything from Zheng during the incident.
  • A doctor, who wished to remain anonymous, told Chicago Tribune he was "a few minutes too late" when he attempted to provide first aid to Zheng. "It all happened pretty fast. I did maybe 30 chest compressions, and the paramedics were already here," he said.
  • Emergency responders took Zheng to the nearby University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 p.m., which the university confirmed through a statement on Tuesday.
  • The university said it had spoken with Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Chicago Police Supt. David Brown and other members of the mayor’s team about the wave of violence that has hit the community recently.
  • The Chinese American Association at Greater Chicago has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help Zheng's family travel from China to the U.S. The crowdfunding campaign has a $25,000 goal but has already raised more than $38,000 as of this writing.

The aftermath: Community members gathered and held a vigil in the area where Zheng was murdered on Wednesday. Some students also reflected on the tragic event that brought fear to those living in Hyde Park.

  • “I remember him because he's always willing to help others,” a student named Xi told CBS Chicago. “I kind of feel connected because we’re both from China, and I can totally understand it’s really hard for the family. I can’t imagine what would happen to my parents if they just received a call that says, ‘Your daughter has been…’ I just feel connected and really sad.”
  • Mei Wang, director of the statistics master’s program, described Zheng as a “motivated, independent and intellectually curious” student. He received his master’s degree in statistics in July.
  • “He aspired to be a data scientist who could solve important problems facing our society, and who could help people to help more people,” Wang told Chicago Sun-Times.
  • The victim “was not only a promising scholar but also a wonderful person, always willing to help other students,” Professor Dan Nicolae said. “He will be missed by all who knew him.”
  • “We feel this is really, really probably the worst year for U of Chicago,” a woman told Chicago Sun-Times. “We feel we have to do something, you just cannot let it go on forever.”

The violence: Hyde Park has seen five murders this year and at least 16 shooting incidents, according to police data.

  • “The five murders in Hyde Park this year are shocking and demand action, but we also must not lose sight of the fact that there are many other neighborhoods in the city that year after year suffer many more homicides and shootings — and that too should be shocking,” Roseanna Ander, executive director of the University of Chicago Crime Lab and Education Lab, said.
  • The city saw 336 homicide cases for the first half of 2021, which is two more than the same period in 2020 and 33% more than the 252 cases in 2019, NBC Chicago reported. There were also 1,892 shootings through June 28, from the beginning of the year.

It amazes me that these re.tards get busted in hours and yet their friends and family do the same thing. Again and again. Hyde Park bros are too fucked up on hard drugs to notice a pattern even though it's smacking them in the face. Exceptionally exceptional.

Dumb motherfucker thought he wasn't gonna get caught. Or maybe he just didn't give a fuck.

I've heard Chicago niggers have this fatalistic expectation of not living past 25. Does that play a role in how the chimpouts are so brazen in those parts? How do you even fix this shit without planning a genocide in Minecraft?

At this point, I'd say living and working in Chicago is an occupational hazard.
Depends. If you’re in a safe enclave, you’re fine. Though racial tensions go absolutely insane at times like, say, funerals for bangers heading through your safe enclave. Those funerals are rife with retaliatory murders, wild shooting in the sky (which they’re blessedly better at than whilst aiming for their banger of choice and hitting a kid).

"You Ruined Your Own Communities, Don't Ruin Ours." is a common phrase on posters at the rally’s, and in predominantly cop and fireman areas (you must live within city limits to be a Chicago employee). 639B61AA-7B81-46FA-AB87-FF05B3CD25AA.jpeg

Cop-fireman ‘hood. Lots of media and racism allegations when banger was shot by off duty CPD.)
Also remains one of the few areas in Chicago that has high home values, without the trade off of being recently gentrified. Hyde Park - where the doctor was shot - isn’t particularly safe. The scary thing is a murder right on school property, but Hyde Park is a mixed area and has had murders rape and property crime as a major issue for a long time.

If you’re on the West side and black, yep, I think the 25 thing sounds about right.

According to this article the suspect is 18 year old Alton Spann. His picture was posted above by another user. He is being charged with first degree murder, armed robbery and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. For all of this Spann stole Zheng’s electronics and pawned them for $100.

Man charged with murder of University of Chicago graduate killed in Hyde Park shooting

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a recent University of Chicago graduate in Hyde Park Tuesday.

Shaoxiong Zheng, who went by Dennis according to his friends, was near the U of C campus in the 900-block of East 54th Place Tuesday afternoon when a man got out of a car, pulled a gun, and demanded the 24-year-old's property.

The man then opened fire, shooting the victim in the chest, police said. Then the shooter got back in the car and fled west on 54th Place.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown announced Friday that Alton Spann, 18, has been charged with first degree murder, armed robbery and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon in Zheng's death.

After allegedly committing armed robbery and murder, police said Spann pawned his victim's stolen electronics for just $100.

"Just let that sink in: $100 for Mr. Zheng's and his family's grief," Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said.

After 24-year-old Dennis Zheng was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon on a Hyde Park sidewalk, police said various cameras near the crime scene as well as license plate reader technology helped them identify the alleged getaway vehicle, a stolen Ford Mustang, and the 18-year-old Spann as the driver.

"We had numerous videos of him going into the vehicle, and he was the driver of the vehicle from, we had video we recovered from right just down the block from the homicide," Chicago Police Lt. James McGovern said.

When Spann was arrested the day after the shooting, police said he was carrying the key fob from the Mustang, as well as two firearms - one of which has been linked to Zheng's shooting. Spann's clothing was also collected as evidence.

"Based on the videos collected, Mr. Spann was wearing the same clothing from the same time of the murder at the same time he was arrested," Chicago Police Dep. Chief Rahman Muhammad said.

As for Zheng's electronics that were pawned for $100, police said they were recovered from a store that Spann was seen on video entering not long after the shooting.

"Video was a key evidence to solving this case," McGovern said.

Spann is the only person charged in this case, but police say they continue to investigate whether others might have been involved.

"He had just gotten his driver's license; he was in a new relationship. He had the whole world in front of him, and this happened," said Nick Jackson, friend.

Jackson lived in the same apartment building as his friend near campus, and said residents there have grown close.

"We're a community here of individuals. We have no uncles or cousins. We were each other's support," he said.

The investigation remains ongoing and Chicago police are asking anyone with further information to reach out. Anonymous tips are welcome.
Niggers will kill you for 1 or 100 dollars. Low impulse control and low IQ. They are a bioweapon worse than smallpox.

I've heard Chicago niggers have this fatalistic expectation of not living past 25.
I think it may be part of the mentality for many in hard-knock urban areas. When I attended university, I was well-acquainted with a white lady who was raised in a major metropolis; she said that she reconsidered killing herself after she graduated high school, the reason for having that plan in the first place being that she couldn't see anything past that and once considered that a big achievement.

TBH this sounds like a public service, eliminating a chink ("Dennis" yeah ok dude sure) who was mysteriously here chinking it up for some reason with his other chink infiltrators friends. There's not even any born in America sympathy points, this is a straight up zipperland chink whose parents live in the hive, and are probably connected since they had money to ship their mitosis clone here at full price college and board rates for at least 6 years.

I think the jig should be let off, after all murder only applies to people. Maybe give him an animal cruelty charge, or a medal or something.

Damn you for making me google all that shit just to have some context on what's going on. Learning stuff's for nerds. :jacepout:

So, the joggers are beginning to make their way towards the idyllic liberal bubble that is the University of Chicago? They could gun down a student/faculty member once a day and it still wouldn't sober them up about the reality of their city's situation.

On a brighter note it's one less Chinese national that will be filling a prison cell after an espionage conviction, so more room for White supremist murderers like this one.

Crowdfunding campaign for Oakland toddler killed by stray bullet raises over $100,000 in 14 hours

1637161636285.jpeg
The GoFundMe campaign for Jasper Wu, the 23-month-old boy killed by a stray bullet while his family was driving on an Oakland highway on Nov. 6, has raised more than $100,000 in 14 hours.

Campaign for Jasper and his family: The campaign, set up with the help of the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, is now one of the top fundraisers on GoFundMe, a spokesperson for the American for-profit crowdfunding platform informed NextShark on Wednesday.

  • Since its publication, the GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $200,000 from over 4,000 donors at the time of writing. All of the net proceeds will go to the Wu family. The spokesperson also told NextShark the campaign was shared more than 3,000 times on Wednesday.
  • “The Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce is disheartened to learn that another life has succumbed due to violence, especially one so young,” the organization wrote.
  • The post said Carl Chan, president of Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, had met with the boy’s family and learned that his father, Jihao Wu, had yet to meet his son in person. He reportedly flew to China and could not return to the U.S. due to the COVID-19 restrictions. However, Jihao Wu was allowed to re-enter the U.S. on Monday to prepare for the funeral.

What happened: Jasper Wu and his family were driving through Interstate 880 on Nov. 6 when a stray bullet pierced through their white Lexus Sedan and hit him in the head. The family’s car was caught in the crossfire between two cars at around 2 p.m. that day, NBC Bay Area reported.

  • The toddler was brought to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two adults and two other child passengers of the car were unharmed during the incident. Jasper would have turned 2 in December.
  • The family spoke to ABC7 off-camera and said they want those responsible for the shooting to surrender.

An Asian woman waiting for a train in a Brooklyn subway station was nearly pushed to the trackbed — twice — by an unhinged stranger, police sources told The Post Saturday.

The 34-year-old woman was on the northbound G train station platform at Grand Street and Metropolitan Avenue shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man grabbed her arms and tried to shove her without provocation, the sources said.

The attacker missed his mark thanks to several good Samaritans who stepped in, the sources said.

The attacker then fled the station in an unknown direction — only to brazenly return and try again, the sources said.

The same good Samaritans stopped him a second time.

The woman was shaken but not physically harmed, the sources said.

Police did not immediately say whether the attacker was spurred by hate, but the incident comes amid a surge of anti-Asian attacks across the city.

Pesky Asians oppressing brave Black Womxn again!

Why Boston will need to wait longer for its 1st elected Black mayor

ubpvCWv.png

For the first time in its history, Boston is inaugurating a newly-elected mayor on Tuesday who is not a white man. Michelle Wu – who's Asian American, is the first woman and first person of color elected to lead the city. While many are hailing it as a major turning point, others see it as more of a disappointment that the three Black candidates in the race couldn't even come close.

Many in Boston were hopeful that this would be the year, in this time of racial reckoning, that Boston might elect its first Black mayor, as most of the nation's 30 largest cities have already done.

Three Black candidates were in the race, and one even had the advantage of running as an incumbent, after automatically inheriting the job – as an interim- when former Mayor Marty Walsh left to become Secretary of Labor in the Biden administration. And yet, neither Acting Mayor Kim Janey, nor the others, even made it to the final run-off election this month.

"I got home, and I cried," says Danny Rivera, an artist and civil rights activist in Boston. "I cried my eyes out because I don't know the next time we'll see a Black mayor in our city."

"It is lived experience that matters most"

At Janey's farewell address in Boston last week, Rivera says he was especially disappointed because of how poignant and relatable he found Janey's personal history in Boston. As a girl, in the 1970s, she was among those bussed into white neighborhood schools where Blacks were pelted with insults and rocks. Later, as a teenage mom, she struggled to make it when she was all but written off.

"I believe that it is lived experience that matters most, and what separated [Janey] from every other candidate," he says. "That's all super powerful, and I thought we missed the moment."

Twenty-year-old Nia Ashleigh, a student at the Berklee School of Music, also felt let down that none of the Black candidates had enough support to be ultimately viable, but she says, she was not surprised.

"It's just one of those things where it feels like what else is new?" she quipped.

Indeed, in the preliminary election, the three Black candidates combined got about three quarters of the vote in areas of the city with the highest concentrations of people of color. But in the whitest areas, they won only about one quarter of the votes, according to an analysis of election results and Census data conducted by The MassINC Polling Group.

"I mean the data speaks for itself, and it's troubling," says former Massachusetts State Rep. Marie St. Fleur. Especially, she says, for a city still straining under a longtime reputation as racist.

"For those of us born or raised in Boston, and who lived through some of the darker days, the fact that we blinked at this moment is sadness," she says. "At what point in the city of Boston will we be able to vote — and I'm going to be very clear here — for a Black person in that corner office?"

"We can only play race card for so many occasions"

To be sure, there were other factors, and fault, at play in the way the race turned out.

"We can only play race card for so many occasions," asserts Rev. Eugene Rivers, a longtime Black community leader. "I mean Black leadership failed to produce success even with an incumbent. We failed. Now that's not on white people."

Black leaders are already talking about taking lessons from incoming Mayor Wu's successful campaign to improve their own political organizing and messaging, and to increase Black turnout in future races. Some are also calling for a more coordinated strategy to coalesce behind a single black candidate, to avoid splitting the vote as happened this year. But others bristle at the idea of expecting any Black candidate to drop out of a race because there are too many of them.

Imari Paris Jeffries, executive director of King Boston, the group building a memorial on Boston Common to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Paris Jeffries says he also feels "grief" that a Black candidate didn't make the cut this year. But while important symbolically and psychically, he says, a candidate's race should not be the determinant in any race.

"In this anti-racist discourse, I don't think we're going to find identical twins of our experience in order for [candidates] to empathize," he says. "I think we have to start creating a larger tent and find common ground together."

It's a theme incoming Mayor Wu has struck throughout her campaign, and again, when she was asked about it as she attended Janey's farewell address.

"I expect that the Black community, will hold her accountable"

"I have heard and want to continue acknowledging the disappointment of many in our community who wish to see representatives of the Black community," she said. "We will continue working to meet this moment to take on systemic racism and the barriers that have been perpetuated for far too long."

Boston voters, like Pam Cannon of Roxbury, will be watching.

"I'm going to hold her to it," Cannon says. "I'll make sure she comes to my neighborhood. I'll be calling her up. I'm going to be checking in with her."

So will Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, (D-MA), who endorsed Wu in the final election, after all three of the Black candidates had been eliminated.

"I don't give anyone anything," Pressley said, as she also attended Janey's farewell address. "[Wu] earned my endorsement, but she earned it because she is prepared to be honest about the disparate outcomes across every issue, and I expect that the Black community, will hold her accountable. Because this is about changing the legacy of the city of Boston."

Former Boston City Council member and Janey supporter, Tito Jackson, agrees. He too made a bid to become Boston's first elected Black mayor four years ago, and also fell short. But he says Janey's short, but historic tenure has helped move the conversation forward.

"We're not going to put our head down and we're not going to walk around like we lost," Jackson says. "[Janey] advanced the issues that I brought up four years ago, that no one wanted to touch" before the death of George Floyd put new focus on racial equity and justice in America. "But those issues were in the forefront this go-around."

For her part, outgoing Acting Mayor Janey struck a similar message, insisting her time in the corner office did push Boston forward, and left the city better off than it had been, largely because she approached every issue —from housing to schools and health care — "through a lens of racial equity."

Still, she adds, "There's a lot more work to do, when it comes to all our '-isms," in Boston and around the country.
