Even though cities like Austin and Dallas are blue cities I doubt that Texas will turn fully blue in the next few years.

As the boomers die off and more Mexican immigrants come in, it'll turn more blue, but yeah, probably a few elections away still.

In 2016, Texas was 43.24% blue and 52.23% red (in the presidential race). In 2020, it was 46.48% blue and 52.06% red. So not a huge drop in red, but a big shift towards blue. In 2012 it was 41.38% blue and 57.17% red. So the trend is definitely going towards blue, although that might have to do with Trump being an awful president
