And yet another Dobson drawing I wouldn't remotely recognize unless he told you who the fuck it was.

Could it look LESS like the ancient video in question? It has none of the charcoal-y rough style of the music video it's referencing, which would be how you would reference it so that people might, you know, actually recognize it.

Oh? And here I thought lazy posers were people who went to art school, didn't pay attention when they got there, and blamed everyone else for their amateurish drawings all while ignoring criticism and enjoying asspats from equally terrible artist on deviantart...

I must be doing it wrong then...*sigh*
 
Dobson does have a job. He is an illustrator, right. I am sure he does work for stock, contract and other means to pay his bills.

I guess the thing I want to ask of the people who still follow him is this.

What exactly do you want of Andrew Dobson?
  • The guy has shown his ability and yes he seems to have let himself hit a plateau or two, but what artist hasn't?
  • He is not on SSI, is he? Is he still living with his rents?
  • He has done some hilariously dumb things, but what normal person hasn't?
  • His life is not a perpetual slide to ruin like CWC(for a while at least), ADF or other recognized actual cows.
  • He is an SJW, so what? At a certain point hating SJW's makes you as miserable as they are.
I guess what I am asking here is at what point does this cross from examining an idiot, to becoming a perpetual hatedom.

I see back and forth tweets, but I am missing the humor in this. At this point attacking him is no longer funny. It is just plain disappointing.
 
@SunLightStreak His perpetual negativity and self-loathing, his stagnation as an artist, his total obliviousness to his own hypocrisy, and his desperate need for validation keep me coming back. I guess it's more schadenfreude than lol. The fact that he's not as much of a terrible person as CWC (though he is slowly improving) or ADF is nice, too. Dobson isn't really hurting anyone except himself so I never feel guilty or sorry for anyone. He's basically a guilt free lolcow.

Yeah, he is. I rarely ever finishes his projects or follows through with promises. He's a trained animator and all he can do now is short Korrosami proposal clips. He just doesn't care about that anymore and moaning on twitter is easier.

So he lacks project management skills and fails to deliver, interesting. So he is better at drawing and much much worse at monetizing his talent. That sounds like a lot of starving artists.

I bring up stock, because there are a lot of artists who are just terrible at working on large projects, but are still capable. There are also a lot of firms that need people to do this work. It is not glamourous, but it does pay a hell of a lot more than Patreon.

A signature image last I checked there went for 3 credits a download while a regular image went for 1 credit. A single credit is $10. An artist can make $0.2 to $4.5 a download depending on the circumstances.

I would think his whining would be more grating or annoying rather than funny at some point. As for obliviousness to hypocricy. That is just boiler plate for SJW's and anti-SJW's.

So really it is as if his life really is stuck in a perpetual holding pattern, isn't it? He cannot move forward and eventually he will run out of fuel. Still any real signs of love-questing or frustration re: biological clock?

I don't really get the connection. The Dobby image is actually much better. It has forms and lines that are much more believable. There is a huge distance in ability between the 2 and Dobson's is better.

That and the constant ranting and hating of his own gender. As Rachel pointed out:


He's not interested in winning over male fans, just impressing women, specifically the tumblr-feminist group due to their similar hatred of all things "male". He'll block a male Twitter user the instant they say something even akin to criticism, but Rachel, someone who was clearly pointing out what was wrong with his argurments in a blunt matter, was still allowed to view his feed, only eventually being muted. And should a girl ever disagree with his opinion, he immediately dismisses them as not knowing what they're talking about, as in the case of the teenage lesbian that pointed out his KorraSami interest was more than a bit creepy.

Dobson wants to be seen as an intellectual, someone "not like other guys" with unique, controversial opinions and radical new ideas to change the world for the better. Instead, all he comes across as is a typical fedorabro with a swelled ego and a persecution complex.

What's entertaining is that he somehow fails to realize this.
