Fuck I'm so glad Dobson's getting called out on this bullshit on twitter. It's always evident that his "progressiveness" is an affected veneer that he's using to try to draw popularity, but this is even more fucking transparent and poorly-executed than usual.

When I lurked the old CWCki forums, back in 2011 or so, the atmosphere was often super a-loggy compared to how it is now, and there were several people who basically were of the "Mental Health treatment as punishment" mindset. There were some that said Chris should be in a group home, not so that he could get help, but as just rewards for his supposed worthlessness. To them, a group home was basically a tard jail were Chris would be beaten up and abused by sped mongs.

This is why most of the time Dobdob has to parrot other SJWs opinions... when he tries to come up with his own, he either has such inherently flawed ones or they are outright idiotic.
I was a bit torn about this, someone already called this close to a "Stopped clock right twice a day" situation... Gun control itself might not be the solution as it rather treats the symptoms than the actual issues. If mass murderes had no access to guns, they might rely on other ways to kill people. Japan has some of the most restrictive gun laws one could imagine, still in 2008 there was a massacre where the perpetrator used a truck and knives to kill 7 people.
Of course, better laws regarding guns are in dire need, I'm just saying that on its own, that might not be that helpful.
When Dobs says one should also look at the reasons why people go on a killing spree or offer counseling to prevent such behaviour you'd think he's kinda right about it, but that's exactly where the reality hits you smack in the mouth.
That isn't really what Dobs said. That isn't what he wants.
Dobs says he wants to destigmatize mental health services and so on, but that rant above shows: This is all just part of his quest to turn the world into a non-offensive, non-threatening hugbox where noone ever does anything Dobs would find even mildly annoying. He wants to turn society into a carebears PSA.
This isn't about people getting the therapy they need, it's about a milquetoast sissy demanding society should pander to his fragile ego.
Calling it now, when he tweets about this, he will not only make it sound like he was the most pitiful victim but also as if that was done by 4chan trolls.

I'm guessing that when he says that there's a "stigma" about seeking mental help, he's referring to the fact that he's been called out as a massive pussy for claiming PTSD from a spray bottle. He neither knows nor cares about things like combat veterans being afraid to seek PTSD counseling because of the effect on their careers. It's all about fighting the evil trolls in the only way he knows how: ineffectual nonstop Twitter whining.
