Can a cow better themselves

There is a path away from degeneracy for many cows, but the harsh reality is that the vast majority will lack the mental capacity and necessary willpower to go from lolcow to a contributing, albeit eccentric, member of society. For every ILJ, Chris-chan, and Ethan Ralph, there are folks who can recover from their previous conduct if they'd just do one or more of the following:
  • Get a job, enroll in university, or learn a trade (NEETs)
  • Complete basic hygiene tasks daily (Shower, brush teeth, deodorize, comb hair)
  • Learn to cook, to exercise, to hold a conversation, to manage money, to set boundaries
  • Read and watch something other than manga and anime
  • Consider painting/drawing still-lifes and landscapes or writing a short-story collection instead of cringeworthy comics and fan-fiction
  • Go to a medical doctor, see no-bullshit psychologists and psychiatrists, take meds as prescribed, go to rehab(?)
  • Consider moderate political, identitarian, sexual, and religious beliefs
  • Don't believe every goddamn thing you see or read on the Internet; don't assume people on the Internet are your friend
  • Don't advocate or otherwise endorse pedophilia or bestiality; stop being a sex-pest
  • Use the Internet only for essential business only
Granted, some people just need to wipe their online presence and become a hermit or seek in-patient commitment due to the threat that they pose to themselves or others.
Ok, let's try:
  • There is surprising number of cows, who have education and hold a job. That doesn't help much.
  • Not all of them are dirty, smelly, etc.
  • Surprisingly, some of them come exactly from gym circles and not all of them are in perpetual debt.
  • Not all of them are weebs, not even close. And better media doesn't help when you can't understand it, look at MovieBob.
  • Drawing doodles isn't the source of the problem, it is consequence.
  • Yes.
  • That's like recommending an alcoholic "drink less". Cut that shit completely from your life if you can't handle it.
  • Well, yes, but again, it's a sympthom, not a cause.
  • Just "stop"? Yeah, good luck with that.
  • You could stop right here.
I will just repost my answer from another of those threads. By the way, since it was on the first page, @LeChampion1992 evolves from a faggot to megafaggot.
Considering the theme of this thread - when you hit 25-28 years your body and brain are completely formed. All of the shitty habits and character flaws are likely to travel with you for the rest of your life. That's why cows like SammyClassicSonicFan and Ulilililia managed to turn their lives around, but someone like Chris, DSP, Wings, Ralph, Jarbo, Gorgeous George, KoP or YanDev - never. When they had capacity to change, they used it become even bigger cows than they were.

That doesn't count for schizos though, since sometimes it goes away by itself and sometimes they are given wrong diagnosis.

It's not just the furry / troonery / LGBT / dumb arguments / massive overeating etc that define a Lolcow. One of the requirements of being a Lolcow is that you must be the centre of attention. If nobody is paying attention to you, that means you're unimportant and boring and for some people the idea that they aren't special, exciting and everyone else's most important priority is worse than a Siberian prison.

When you're a crazy person with no life skills, and you can't get to be the centre of attention because of your accomplishments and talents, you need to resort to internet faggotry.

Most of the time these people tend not to be self-aware enough to know that there's scores of people on the internet to who they give great entertainment thanks to their antics. Those that realize that they're being batshit crazy tend not to stay that way for long, everyone else... well... they end up as a joke and end up ruining their lives in one way or another.

Every time their thread gains a new page it cuts their chances of recovery by half

Child lolcows, yes. Most kids grow out of the cringe phase and become functioning adults. Adult lolcows either don't have the self-awareness to realize why people are taking the piss out of them, or they are fully aware of it and are doing it for attention. Look at how many lolcows have threads 100+ pages long because they never learn how to stop showing their asses online, figuratively and literally.

Sometimes.

Part of what makes them cows is that even though some can be self aware they all have the hurdle of keeping to ‘reforming’ themselves because most of their actions stems from a pattern of behaviour over time (or online addiction if they’re terminally online) like dealing with a drug addict or a convict they’ll most likely be back.

I think some of us would be happy to see lolcows stop becoming cows. We may laugh at their self-inflicted suffering, but we don't want them to suffer(well, most of them. the sicker horrorcows deserve everything they get.) Everyone loves a success story of someone who turned their life around, and its not like we lose anything. after all, there's going to be a bunch more new cows to replace the one who's gone right?
