Poll Once Again Confirms That Hispanics Hate The Term ‘Latinx’

Only 4% of Hispanic adults prefer to use the term Latinx to self-identify, according to a Gallup survey published Wednesday.

Gallup asked Americans with Latin American cultural ties whether they preferred to be called Hispanic, Latino, or Latinx. Latinx is a new gender-neutral term used as an alternative to Latino or Latina.

The poll found that 57% of Hispanic respondents didn’t prefer any term, 23% preferred Hispanic, 15% favored Latino, and only 4% chose Latinx.

The poll also asked which term they lean toward if they had to choose. A majority of 57% preferred Hispanic, while 37% choose Latino, and 5% said Latinx.

The Gallup poll was based on telephone interviews conducted from June 1 to July 5, with a random sample of 302 Hispanic adults. The margin of error was 7 percentage points

Gallup’s findings confirm a previous poll conducted by the Pew Research Center in August 2020. According to that poll, only 23% of Hispanic respondents had heard of Latinx, and 3% were using it.

Among Hispanics aged 18 to 29, 42% of respondents said they had heard of it, compared with 7% of those ages 65 or older, according to the poll.

Hispanic college students are more likely to be aware of the term Latinx, with 38% of graduate saying they had heard of it, and 31% with some college experience saying the same, according to the poll. Only 14% of Hispanic with just a high school diploma said they know the term.

The term Latinx has been mocked by commentators like talk show host Bill Maher, who said in June the term was only used by “pandering white politicians.” (RELATED: ‘Asian Graduation,’ ‘Black Graduation’: Columbia University Holding 7 Different Ceremonies For Students)

President Joe Biden referred to Latinx in June when he said he believed Latinos are not receiving COVID-19 vaccinations at the same rate as whites because “they’re worried that they’ll be vaccinated and deported.”

“It’s awful hard to get Latinx vaccinated as well,” Biden said at a Raleigh, North Carolina, community center. Statistics indicated 42.6% of Latinos have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, compared to 48.8% of whites and 37.8% of African-Americans, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

As noted, Spanish is a gendered language, and "Latinx" is a direct insult and rejection of the very nature of the Spanish language, an important part of South Of The Border culture. In street gang culture, putting an X over, say, graffiti of a rival gang's tags/names means you want to destroy/kill the rivals. That cultural meme has deep roots in the culture of Hispanic Americans.

Also, in South Of The Border cultures, people identify far more with the region they and their ancestors are from than any sort of overarching racial group. I live in Northcentral California and it is common for Hispanics here to put their family names or the name of the region (usually in Mexico) that they came from on their cars.

There simply isn't much in the way of pan-racial ideology among them except for those who get into big universities and get sucked into the Wokeandan Rathole. There was a trend in Mexico in the 1920s-30s to use the term "La Raza" to identify Hispanics, but even that doesn't seem to be very widely used except among Reconquista radicals, who again are a relatively small minority.

I haven't heard of the term "Castellano" in reference to South Of The Border Spanish before. Maybe I'll start using it.

That would be funny if a white liberal said, “I don’t care if them brown skinned people don’t like the word latinx, they will learn to love. Also, those brown skin boys going to learn to become homosexual and have cocks slammed into their anus as well.

a few Mexican men arrive in the USA from Mexico. Suddenly they are tackled to the ground from behind by homosexual black men. “Pleasureable anus of latinx Mexico” the homosexual black man says then slams his penis into latinx man’s anus. “Pleasure of latinx skin color anus” black man explains

its literally making a mockery of hispanic peoples language.
its the equivilant to ching chong.
literally fucking up the syntax of how the language works because it would sound retarded if you tried to replace any gendered words with X.
latinx itself is already stupid. how is it pronounced?

There's no set group of "hispanics" because they're not just a monochromatic race of drones.
From what I understand, "hispanic" is a racial term used for american spics. The real Latin Americans don't "identify" as hispanics. Like you know how in the movies the cops say "the killer is white hispanic" or some shit.

Unfortunately, the neutral language is propagating in some south american countries. Retards replace the suffixes of gendered nouns and adjetives A/O with a fucking X or even an E. So "niño/niña" gets replaced with "niñx". It makes me fucking seethe, mostly because these same retards barely know how to read or write. You can't change the grammar rules of a language if you don't fucking know them.

Obligatory reminder that that particular "Latinx" had several "chemical peel" skin treatments done so she'd look White enough to have her cake and eat it too (along with her enablers). She could be White enough to be marketable yet "Latinx" enough for Woke Points whenever the need for such arose in the milieu of fashion magazines. The only place in the entire fucking Tinseltown swamp that really embraces Blacks is "urban" (rap and soul) music, because they have no other choice. Everything else is White as snow except for a handful of token house niggers and spics. Jim Crow never died in Hollywood, the Jews running the whole shitshow simply got better at hiding him.

the only hispanics are the people from spain

spaniards arent white lmao, its like when argentinians think that they are italians
It depends where you go. Down south is darker like slightly Arabic (not entirely but mixed), up north is white Germanic & dutch. Most of the expats who landed in Argentina from Spain are from Galicia where I am from.

LOL, here's a woman from Galicia who looks just like Donald Trump. One thing you should know is that a lot of places in Europe are not native to the white people you see today but were instead conqured by Northern Europeans who killed a bunch of Indo-europeans and stole their land....but this was very, very, very, very long ago.

As an affluent liberal white socialist who hates colonialism and cultural appropriation, its my duty to ensure all these ignorant filthy non-white savages have their cultures and backwards languages fixed by me. Its the penance for my privilege to be their savior. All those filthy racists think everyone should be treated equally. They dont realize these people need extra help because of their innate lack of privilege.

If the idiots wanted a gender neutral version of latino or latina why didn't they just go with "latin"?
Latino is the gender neutral version, it can refers to all people (male and female) or just males depending on the context. Which is something those upper class people don't understand.
I despise the term, and I refuse to be classified as such. It's actually a little insulting, as it's not a native Spanish phrase, and would never be constructed that way in the Spanish language. Plus, in some Spanish slang, calling something an X is to say it is of little value.

There's no set group of "hispanics" because they're not just a monochromatic race of drones. There's thousands of different cultures and dialects a person could have, depending on origin.

It's a mark of Spanish pride to not be classified (Unless Soccer is involved), especially by things such as race. Many consider it insulting to refer to them as anything specific, except maybe by their place of origin. Many even don't like the language to be called Spanish, and like to use the term Castellano.

Most of the native Spanish speaking people I know are completely baffled by the American need to classify everyone into racial groups, and the only people of Spanish decent who support such things are usually 3rd generation kids who don't speak the language, and have never known hardship in their lives.
US people are so obsessed classifying everything by skincolour/race like wtf why call someone asian/african/hispanic american instead of just US citizen. Eso hueones ctm

Latinos come in all colours just look at any Latino family, they range from "don't go outside you'll blind us all" to "don't go outside at night, we won't be able to see you"

Also Latinx sounds like a laxitive wtf

The only people i can think of that uses it besides entitled white soyboys and white girls are college hispanic girls that try to act white.
