It was (back then) everyone goes through the same boot camp and will move onto their job training after the fact. R Lee Ermy (peace be upon him) portrayed (he was there after all) as shitty of a DI as you could realistically see. DI’s used to carry handcuffs back then for a reason.
The establishment is still traumatized over a bunch of boomers committing criminal trespassing and smacking a couple cops. Imagine a mob that wants to unironically lynch the people that voted to sell them and their country out.

I am so exhausted with the argument that the war with Iran is about propping up Israel. Israel is a tertiary issue. The issue is America's guarantee of the Arab Kingdoms sovereignty. When the United States agreed to protect the Arab Monarchies, there was an exchange for the service. The Arabs agreed that they would only sell their oil in the United States Dollar. This agreement, to only sell oil from the middle east in American dollars, underpins the ENTIRE American economy. Because it means that no country on earth can buy oil without first buying US Dollars. America alone is a major export nation. Its NATO partners like Norway are again vassals in name only. So they also only sell in dollars. By bringing in the Arabs, the USA locks down the ENERGY market. The ENERGY Market is everything on pre type 1 Kardishev Scale civilization. It does not matter your education levels, your industrial capacity, your population, your land or your precious resources. All that matters is your access to ENERGY. And by protecting the Arabs, combining that protection to the western domination in North and South America along with Europe, the United States established itself as the ENERGY market for the entire planet, and the exchange of which would be paid in our currency.
This result underpins EVERYTHING. The food every American eats. The roads we drive on. The air we breathe. The wealth, stability and prosperity of our Empire. The inexhaustible strength of our military. It all rests upon the Petro Dollar, which is a misnomer. It is the ENERGY Dollar. The harnessed output of earths power. That is traded in our currency. That all on earth must buy, and as consequence all on earth must support Americas dominion.
