In a video on YouTube, a 52-year-old man from Brøndby came with threats on his life directed at Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S).   It costs him 50 days unconditional imprisonment.
This is stated by prosecutor at the Copenhagen West Region Police Michelle Lindegaard, who says that she is satisfied with the verdict that was handed down.
– What the verdict shows is that it is serious to make threats – also online, says Michelle Lindegaard.
The man livestreamed the threats from his phone, and subsequently it was possible to watch the video on the man’s YouTube channel.
The phone has been confiscated as a result of the verdict.
According to the prosecutor, the man in the court in Glostrup claimed that he had said that he would kill Mette Frederiksen as a joke.  The court did not believe that explanation.
The man has been convicted under section 119 of the Criminal Code, which states that it is an aggravating circumstance to make threats against a person in public service.
And it is extra aggravating that the threats are made against a person who comes up with his political views, the prosecutor explains.
The man received the verdict, which means he will not appeal it to the high court.
