Nah it wasn't boneworks, I've been following that too though.

Maybe I did dream up the gameplay footage part but at the very least gaben confirmed "Half Life 3" for VR back in like april, even if there wasn't footage to go with it.

Edit: But looking at the trailer on the steam page is really fucked up because this is exactly what it looked like, so I've definitely taken a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in the wrong dimension. Anybody know how I can get back?

Uh wow this looks really good, better than pretty much any AAA title in the last decade. Too bad it’s not half-life 3 but I’ll take it.

No, “diversity and inclusion” bullshit either as it stars a black woman and no one hating it for that because Alyx is an established character before SJW bullshit.

The official website says it's gonna be set in City 17, apparently.
My thoughts from watching the website and the game's Steam page:
  • It seems the Combine are constructing the Citadel from scratch now, which means Valve has retconned their early versions of the lore from HL: Raising the Bar, where Citadels teleported out of nowhere on day 1 of their invasion
  • There's a lot of Russian inscriptions on things - C17 is definitely a Russian location this time around, or a post-Soviet one at the very least. It really reminds me of St. Petersburg
  • Headcrab zombies have been redesigned, and there seems to be some sort of headcrab with Combine cybernetics (?)
  • You can get headcrabbed too and need to throw them off your head. No HEV suit, after all
  • More Xen creatures will be introduced
  • The cut Combine flamethrower units, the Cremators, seem to be back, according to a screenshot on Steam. They look very different, though

City 17 was supposed to be an eastern european location from the start. There were things written in cyrillic around and Father Grigori was easten orthodox.
