I fully agree that journos can be scum, I learned that lesson in the 90s when I saw the nauseating and detestable creature known as Christiane Amanpour.

Trump can try, but the courts don't give a shit, S230 basically gives them all plausible deniability because they hide behind Terms of Service violations

I really enjoyed The Killstream, it became a nightly ritual for me as my work would end before they started and it really helped me unwind after a stressful work day with just laughing at stupid news and equally stupid people - hell, I even gave a few superberries just so Ralph would say stupid stuff ("I'm your host, Ethan Ralph, owner and Editor-in-Chief of theRalphRetort.com and my favorite anime is Bible Black").

Then, less than a week before midterms, out comes the hammer - "Stop sharing our societal fuck-ups to thousands of others whom we get a cut of their donations or you'll be depersoned!"

It's not impossible to prove that a platform has an ideological bias. James O'Keefe has been doing it for ages. Add in a statement of policy from a Trump appointee at the relevant executive agency (FCC?) and/or maybe an executive order and you've got a situation that will at least make Youtube/Twitter/Facebook/Google etc think twice about the course of action they're pursuing of nuking all non far left content.

It doesn't matter. The courts have literally given these companies blanket immunity. You can't executive order away laws written by congress, nor can you executive order away rulings by the supreme court.

would require the DoJ to launch a successful anti-trust lawsuit ordering things like divestment, unlikely but possible, you would likely have to prove some sort of collusion.

This is difficult, you would have to have an email or something, and even then i doubt our cucked government would order these firms to break up.

We need new laws, you can't get around section 230, but you can clarify and override it.
