.22-250, possibly. Underrated cartridge for what it does - high velocity anti-varmint. I've heard of old timers using it for Elk with neck shots...

What about 204 Ruger? I know at least LMT makes an AR barrel in 204 Ruger. Most likely others do as well but I do not know about them.

Comedy option .17 HMR? In a SHTF scenario it would still be effective up to 200 yards, and you can carry A LOT of it. Or going the opposite...
