Tumblr hates art theft and treats any reposts like someone committed a murder right in front of them. It's not always good, but it's inevitable.

I think it's because of the other part of Tumblr and We Heart It, which just posts whatever without credit and sometimes they crop out signatures...

I suspect this has something to do with it. Being familiar with both, chan culture is more interested in the art while tumblr is more interested...
