Anyone who feels bad for chickens in their general treatment has never raised them. They're dumber than bricks and are only slightly less gross...

Smell's not that bad if you contain them to a far part of the yard. If you're out in the country it smells like manure in the summer anyway.

Sounds like a Billy Joel song from the 70s I used to raise a small flock for fun, but some predators got into the coop :(
