DLC will probably take place in pre-2077 Night City set around the Cyberpunk Red timeline. That's how I'd do it.

In Fallout3 you die in the end of the main story line, but if you have DLC you are miraculously get dragged out and resurrected by the Brotherhood...

From what people said here, it would almost certainly be you playing Keanu's past (but still able to make minor choices because it's a simulation).
