Probably just lazy. He lives in Blytheville, Arkansas. He did live in Hayti, Missouri at one time, but has been in Blytheville for at least 5 years.

He says "Missouri Bootheel" which may be used as as a term for a region, like how people in northeast Texas would say they live in the "Panhandle"...
