Turn-based is dead, son. Nobody wants to fuck around with a zillion battle menus these days.
Looks more like Witcher 3 to me. The setting too.

Because the majority of people outside the niche of old fans thinks turn based combat sucks and is boring.

Probably the same reason as paper mario. We already have a turn based RPG series at home (Dragon Quest)
Kinda sucks that this one moves away from...

One thing they could at least do is incorporate the combat system from FFXII where you have the option to turn off turn-based for quicker action...
