One thing has been incredibly consistent over the last ten years: modern progressives have zero understanding of leverage or negotiating tactics...

Seriously, "Okay, you have access now, just submit a request (which we'll deny), hey, you didn't say you'd actually EXPECT to get it!"

I think it's because it makes the request sound less demanding. Which, obviously, is how some people will take it.
