Of all the selfish, greedy, self-serving bullshit Chris could pull... This is honestly one of, if not the most, deplorable, disgusting, despicable stunts Chris has ever pulled. This is vile. It's bad enough that Chris has been begging for money because he couldn't afford to feed the pets he has, but now he's brought in at least three more cats into that toilet of a house he lives in, puts his other pets at risk of disease and parasites, and is trying to use them to sucker rubes out of more money.
I'm never going to believe that Chris loves his animals, or even cares about them any further than they're cute and that makes him happy. People who actually love their pets make damn sure they're well taken care of and have a healthy environment to live in. They make sure that buying food for them is a priority, not risk starving them because the owner blew most of their money on kiddie toys. If Chris loved those cats he would take them to a shelter where they will get medical care, get fixed, and be well taken care of until they can find loving homes. But because Chris puts himself before anything and anyone else, that's not going to happen.
It really is as simple as: Kitties cute. Mongo like cute kitties. Cute kitties make Mongo happy. Mongo no give up kitties. Give up kitties make Mongo big sad-cry. Mongo no want sad-cry, so Mongo keep cute kitties. Chris doesn't give a shit that his animals are miserable and living in a disgusting environment because doing the right thing and giving them up will make him sad. Someone earlier said that Chris doesn't see his pets as living sentient beings, but as possessions, and that is exactly the case. They are just a different kind of toy for him, toys that will come up to him for affection. He doesn't comprehend that they have feelings just like he does and that his negligence is harming these animals.
And don't give me that shit that Chris does love his animals or that "he's not the worst pet owner out there". Chris only loves himself, and just because he isn't beating his pets or making them fight for profit doesn't make him a good pet owner. He is willfully allowing these animals to live in squalor and is wasting money that should go to their food and medical care on childish, frivolous garbage because all he cares about is filling an emptiness within himself that will never be filled because he's a mentally ill buffoon with mind of a child. And just because cats are "independent and resilient" and "mostly take care of themselves" doesn't make any of this any less wrong.
I really hope someone close to Chris really lays in and shames him over this. They need to make it clear to him that this is not OK, that he is the wrong person to be caring for sick animals, and if he doesn't take all the kittens to the Humane Society or a decent no-kill shelter then he is a terrible person. Make it clear that he is a selfish villain, not a hero, if he keeps those kittens.
