the thing about self-dx is 95% of the time it's some middle class white kid whose parents are sick of their shit

controversial opinion time: living in middle class white liberal suburbia makes autism worse.
the community doesn't feel obligated to include you. you aren't forced to interact with people since you can drive everywhere, order online, use the self checkout. there's no extremely well defined cultural rituals or hierarchies. parents can afford more changes to routines like going out to eat or going on vacation, and are more likely to push their offspring into trying new foods instead of putting down microwave tendies every night. it's the worst environment for an autist.

Has anyone noticed those fake 'look at me autistic' tumblrites/thots popping up around youtube? Some of their channels consist entirely of "I'm autistic look at me" combined with "I'm a grill teehee" videos. I'm not sure if any of these "youtubers" are on tumblr though, so idk if it's worth mentioning here or if anyone would be interested in seeing videos of this crap.

do people with cerebral palsy who only need leg braces also act like having cerebral palsy is totally fine and parents who vent about their kids being intellectually disabled quadriplegics are awful, or is it only autists who can't tell the difference between the severe and less severe ends of a spectrum?
 
idk if it's been said but i'm pretty sure the whole autistic headcanons thing started on tvtropes

I always thought there was a grain of truth to the self-dxers, considering they seem like the type of people who are so broken, weird, asocial and obsessed with stupid shit that they might as well be autistic, even if their brains aren't.

there are guys on tumblr but they're either gay dudes who are primarily there for porn and to get validation on their selfies, or libertarian/smug atheist types who like getting into arguments with random people

Butterflyinthewell is an autistic woman that is in her 30s but look like she is in her 60s. It's nice of her being in this anti-bullying moviment but it's really hard taking it seriously when you do a video like this:
