A mix of nostalgia blindness and the fact that most of these shows with pseudo-anime style fell into obscurity rather quickly. I can't think of...

From what I understand people did watch it to the tune of 2.4 million viewers, but between western action shows having a rather archaic business...

I agree, there always have been trends in animation, but I would argue that both 90s and 2000s were lot more diverse than modern US animation...

At least those shows looked way better and had more care put into them. Thundercats Roar just looks like dogshit.
