That year top 32 was 16 people that advanced from pools + 16 pre-qualifers (top 8 from Evo East + top 8 from Evo West). EDIT:

You used to have qualifiers for it. What that meant was if you just showed up, you'd have to play through pools to get your seed in the top 32...
