Blue Archive - The south Korean Gacha game that almost died, is now being released on Steam this summer.

We had a good thing you stupid son of a bitch! We had the spark system, We got new swimsuits! We had everything we needed and it ran like clockwork. You could Shut your month, do nothing and collect as much money as possible. It was perfect! But no, you just had to blow up. You, and your pride and your ego. You just had to be a kike. If you done your job, known your place, we all would be fine right now!

Wonder if they are waiting post swimsuit banners to decide if to revert the gacha changes or not. As long as the gacha rates haven't been adjusted it should be like 95% getting a character in less than 100 pulls (I don't remember having more than 50 pulls without any 3 star), but there was a lot of charm of getting some character you liked but wasn't worth it in the meta.

It boils down to how much whales will change their habits. At least the memes are good.

So the patch notes on the JP server (tl needed to read, though I have someone on my circle translated it and turned into images I posted below using AI) revealed more details of the system that wasn't mentioned (or what people missed during the livestream).
TL;dr:
- Getting 3* students that isn't on the banner does not reset the pity, nor does getting the different featured student on different banner. This means that if you get, say, Saori on Makoto's Summer banner, it wont reset the pity. Same goes if you get Summer Makoto when rolling on Summer Satsuki's banner.

- They added this system that's similar to what I saw in Goddess of Victory: Nikke's special limited banners where you get both one time reward and repeat rewards by rolling on the featured banners (up to 390 total). The reward from it, as mentioned in the patch notes has at least enough for 80 pulls and it refreshes when the featured banner ended.

Also Yongha Kim realized shit's dire that he actually tweeted a response/apology to the situation. (AI TL by Blue Archive:Kivotos Warfare here)

I can't... Tell if this is still dire, only slightly shitty, or... what. This is the only gacha game I play and I'm unsure what's what.

Whatever happened to BA must be one of the, if not THE absolute worst Gacha dramas I had saw and I've saw a couple of these before like the Limbus Company and Love in Deep Space megadramas (and that's not even getting into the disasters that repeatedly sweep Puzzle and Dragons and Pokemon GO, I know the latter is not a Gacha game but still).

It's like seeing the entire Touhou Franchise implode overnight because ZUN got caught in some sort of weird ass scandal and then months later nobody is talking about it anymore.

You need to fuck up VERY badly to utterly destroy a 6-year legacy and cred overnight.

I want to say good riddance to a Gacha game later, but then I remember at this point Mihoyo just shits up everything alongside the likes of Stella Sora, Nikke and Wuthering Waves so it doesn't change anything.

It's dire and I meant bloody dire. I've never saw a Gacha/Microtransaction Game just make the entire gacha system worse, at most they just amp up the rare units.

I really doubt it's that bad, like I said before, probability wise it's an improvement as long as they keep the 3% rate, since that means that you are nearly guaranteed to get the banner character in less than 100 pulls unless you pissed off the wrong deity.

And I can't see it as something that will kill the popularity of the game. There's a ton of merchandise and asians will keep on their dailies. What usually kills those games is either a new game stealing the crowd (not happening) or something plot related, almost always concerned with cucking the players or going into what looks to be politics.

Like wtfNeedSignUp said, it won't really kill the game. It survived the old 300 spark drama and the KR game board protest thingie, this is just people rioting as usual. At least the devs cleared up the fact that the 100 roll 50/50 won't delete the pity if you get someone off-banner/someone on the other featured banner, which is fine for me.

With today's the day for the event, the malding will still be there but watch as the maintenance finished in JP and people begrudgingly rolls for Makoto and Satsuki's summer regardless of the rage and vitriol. Then when the blue fes banners with Summer Ibuki and Iroha come up, we just gonna sit and suffer as the same angry players would change their rage to "UOOOGH CUTE AND FUNNY" when they used the same gacha system they just spent the entire day hating and malding to roll for them.

SURELY THIS WILL APPEASE THE PLAYERS?
Unrelated to the drama so its just gonna be atypical event rewards thingie. Like mentioned before, it only affects the JP server, Global server decided to act to show their disagreement even though we technically isn't going to lose the old gacha system yet.

If the devs decided we get a plethora of stuff and Arona/CM Arcie literally streaming herself apologizing for the mistake the Global hasn't even gotten yet, that's how they potentially appease the community.

EDIT: Speaking about JP server, they extended the maintenance for another hour. It has a gif of Arona apologizing so it felt apt.

There were some people I've seen (doom) posting about how Nexon could roll out the new gacha changes early with the FOX squad banner like how the last change to the gacha (pulling the rate-up for the first time during the banner duration rewards you with 100 eleph of them) was rolled out early to Global with the Nozomi/Hikari Banners & Event (while in JP it debuted with Summer Tea Party's 4.5 fes event).
