What I think O&A did unfairly was abuse the interns without making it part of the show. Ron & Fez had kayfabe but O&A didn't. Some of the interns I didn't feel bad for because they specifically wanted to intern for the Opie & Anthony Show. They knew what they were getting. Others simply got placed there, didn't know what they were walking into, and were mistreated. At least Ron & Fez had interns who went on to find work in radio or entertainment. How many O&A interns did anything? I think Sam was the only one. O&A did nothing to actually train their interns and wasted their time.
Sam was the only one who did anything; but, he was also the one who hired most of the interns, and has gone on record saying that he purposefully looked for the biggest fuck ups and retards during the hiring process. I imagine he did this in order to mask his own mediocrity and lack of talent, making himself look exceptional simply by not being a half-witted Autistic, when in reality, he's a 50 year old glorified radio intern who never had the makings of a varsity shock jock, and will best be remembered as an inept man-child who made out with Robert Kelly on air, and called 911 over a flat tire.

Several interns ignored the obvious bait. Only the idiots who wanted to be on-air at any cost played along. I almost felt like the b-b-b-boys exploited Intern David, but then he leaned into the "executive intern" thing.

I can barely listen to Anthony & Jimmy attacking someone or each other with Opie chiming in being like "HEY FOOTER, WHADIYA GOT."
I've been listening to a lot of shows lately and it's so obvious in hindsight how Opie goes to callers just to fuck with Ant and Jim and they knew it. "Alright hold that thought Anthony we GOTTA take a couple of calls!" "Do ya?"

In terms of interns, I don't think there was ever any moral high ground to speak of. Their only options was to be neglected at best or turned into bagle-fetchers at worst, with the odd retard making it on air to be made fun of. Cruelty was part of the fun, but it also did expose the worst traits of our beloved hosts. You can tear down pencil-necked college kids all you want, but that won't make you being a diva any less faggy.

I can't agree with Opie having the self-awareness and mental capacity required to use dullard callers to passively-aggressively mess with those two. I'll cut off my pecka if it was anything else than a narcissistic fit and Opie feeling the need to "contribute" to the banter ASAP, since he's the one steering the ship after all. He's been doing radio since he was 18, maaan.

I wonder if Sirius pushed for them to take callers. The callers were annoying but sometimes they would create gold. Making Bobby go berserk by calling him a big fat pig for instance.
Shows like that took calls all the time. Look at Ron & Fez. Anthony hated callers with a passion for some reason, even when they were funny. I think he resented callers taking mic time away from him.

He likely hated callers because they were always a dice roll. For every good caller (who was ready, funny, and then fucking dipped) there were 4+ more that bombed, weren't ready, or rambled endlessly.

Opie understood that the unpredictablity was part of the appeal and Anthony never quite grasped when a bit was getting stale and move on.

I never understand the Opie hate - yeah, he isn't funny like Anthony is. He's running a show. He's the coach, Anthony's the Quarterback and Norton was the star receiver (in more ways than one). Opie is really bad at doing what Anthony did, Anthony is still bad at trying to do what Opie did and Norton is just a sad queer by himself.

Norton is just a sad queer by himself.
I’ve always truly despised Norton; even before the sordid fucking tales of rape and gay sex.

I genuinely pray one day that during a domestic at Chez Norton, Ulfric Stormcock violently punches out the undeveloped homunculus; and the last thing Jimmy sees before drifting into unconsciousness is his husband aggressively tearing Jim’s beloved KISS posters into shreds with his enormous erection.

It went under the radar for 7 years but found out that Marion tried getting into politics once

No you tried to get into politics once.
It's too bad she didn't make it. Imagine the alternate timeline where she gets pushed as the Dems answer to Trump and they end up in a debate against each other.
"My opponent is very ugly, ugly as a dog. I looked at her and said "wow that's an ugly woman!"
"Yea, you're an ugly woman, pal!"

It would be the unstoppable force meeting the immoveable object. The debate would still be going to this day.

If Gavin was given a SCRAM bracelet and told not to touch anything that might have alcohol in it, and drank a small beer anyway, then he's a fucking moron. What's more likely is he was drinking regular beers and didn't think the device would catch him... because he's a fucking moron.
