With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

  • 3 Stars — Average. Solid entertainment in spots, some good chaos and crashouts, but nothing special

    Votos: 210 23.8%
  • 4 Stars — Really good. Lots of hilarious moments, strong fish personalities, solid content and vibes

Not sure if Sam ever really was a wigger, he just exhibited wiggerish qualities and hired exclusively wiggers. But I suppose that would make him their king.
As far as I'm aware Sam still owns whatever company Fishtank is, he's just hands off with it. Fishtank is more like Sam's wigger vassal state now.
His user name on X is @wigger and has been since it was Twitter instead of X.

Possibly unpopular opinion:
Jet should just clean out the FT bank accounts and do his spaceship thing now.
I don't think Fishtank is getting more popular season over season, the income is probably the highest that it will ever be. They have everything working pretty well, S5 had the fewest technical difficulties of any season. I see no reason not to throw caution to the wind and make the project he's been wanting to make ASAP. It would lose more money than it makes, but it would also be a genre defining moment at or above the level of season 1.

I think back to something Neptune told me earlier, that his ultimate hope for Fishtank is to hold the show in a warehouse, inside a fully fabricated set designed to look like a spaceship. Rather than compete with each other, the cast will work as a team and remain on board for a full year. He hopes it will simulate, for audiences, the collective joy of witnessing the Apollo missions. “Those daily broadcasts,” he told me, “it was something everyone was following. The world hasn’t had that feeling of rooting for, like, an expedition for 60 years. Everyone who’s on the internet today doesn’t know what that’s like. But it must have been incredible.” It was an odd thing to say, since that very day the astronauts of the Artemis II mission splashed back down on Earth after flying by the moon...

lol fuckin retard jet

This is killing me lmfao. Excellent journalism. Also, who the fuck is he saying smoked meth on the show? Did he just make that up? Is he referring to Sam's bit in S3?
It is probably referring to the Season 1 bit where Dontarius was caught smoking "crack" by Alex Stein, and then they had an argument with production about how it's medicinal crack so therefore it's ok before leaving.

On the 21st day of the most recent season, during a skirmish involving mops, brooms, and thrown piss, one fish named Bashir paused amid the fray and yelled, “What is the point of this?”
“It’s entertaining!” a producer called back.
The Wire,” Bashir replied, “is more intellectual. You don't watch The Wire for people throwing shit.”
The producer glared at him. “OK, well, you’re not on the fucking Wire.”

I float between the upstairs and the basement, where I chat with Neptune and the rest of the staff as they work. I talk with a producer named Mints, who operates the sound board, among other things. He’s 26 and has dark red hair, a mustache, and wire-framed glasses, and is wearing an argyle sweater above astonishingly ill-fitting pants

Última edición:
Good article. I think it overstates the darkness and debauchery but it had a fair take on the show.

lol
Fishtank is the OnlyFans of reality TV, a kind of uncensored, subscription-based, interactive voyeurism. It’s part of an emerging content ecosystem that tech writer Ryan Broderick calls “Chudtech,”

this exchange was funny.
“Luckily the carpet is nice and soft this season,” Ottman says.
“I like sleeping on the floor,” says Taylor, who wears a knit cap, an untucked dress shirt and Japanese-seeming slippers. He has a full beard and dark, tired eyes.
“It’s nice and debasing,” Neptune agrees.
“It’s punishing,” says Taylor. “I don’t want to sleep on a bed anymore.”
“I don’t deserve it,” says Neptune
“I don’t fucking deserve it,” Taylor echoes. “When we’re filming, I feel so masochistic. It’s like, fuck it.
Fuck my stupid life,” Neptune says. “I’m just an idiot who sleeps on the ground.”

It is probably referring to the Season 1 bit where Dontarius was caught smoking "crack" by Alex Stein, and then they had an argument with production about how it's medicinal crack so therefore it's ok before leaving.
Or it might be referring to that homeless couple during The Cell. Or maybe Sam when they revealed Fishtank during season 3 even though that was obviously fake

The reporter not realizing that Burt was experiencing major sexual gratification while being knocked around by Drake... This article is hilarious. So many great nuggets. I'd compile them all but there are a few every paragraph, it's worth just reading the whole thing.
