https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I do wonder what will happen when they go cold turkey. A lot of them are used to TikTok, Snapchat etc on their phones, so it's not necessarily as simple as downloading Mullvad, because the attempted US ban demonstrated those apps seemingly function based off of SIM card region.
On paper they could all just get an older brother to unlock it, because in theory the ID verification wouldn't be retaining IDs to compare between users as it'd be a huge security risk.... in theory. Goodness knows what will actually be in this bill.
If all these kids suddenly don't have access to their distractions of choice... there'll be an awful lot of bored teenagers with very few outlets. It's not like there's really youth centres and the like any more.
We need to create a craze, like yo-yos, but more sort of revolution-y.
Gives them excercise, fresh air, plenty of cardio and eventually, freedom.
What the government has done and is currently doing is unforgivable. Needing a vpn or tor or anything like that is not normal and you shouldn't not be pissed off simply because it doesn't affect you personally.
best part of a decade ago I got a vpn and some burner emails because of trannies trying to dox people on mumsnet. I expressed exactly this sentiment this is fucking wrong and knew the writing was on the wall at that point. It’s all worse now. It isn’t right. I am not doing anything wrong - I’m not hurting anyone, I’m not breaching any law I find moral (which is not a total overlap with actual laws, fuck hate speech.) and I’m some kind of dissident because I’m complaining about polyester clothing in the beauty parlour? They can bugger off with that. I want my freedom back. If they continue to press this, an awful lot of people who were also nice and law abiding will suddenly decide sod it.
@Beautiful Border
regarding screen time, it’s neither a terrible thing nor a brilliant one. It’s just context dependent. A screen is a tool. My kids have iPads. If they want to use it for face timing their Nan, that’s great. Last week they were using them to make little stop motion Lego videos. That’s great. And sometimes they sit and mong out with some Minecraft after school for half an hour while I cook dinner and that’s Ok too. So is using them for boring shit like flights.
So yeah they use screens. Then I’ll tell them to turn them off and go outside, or say no screens, read a book. And they go do that.
They are not allowed unsupervised or internet access. What’s harmful is leaving them to be raised by screen, letting them watch unending slop, being on the internet or anywhere public unsupervised where they can see things they shouldn’t or talk to people they shouldn’t. Screens are tools. I have to work, and I’m not able to provide structured entertainment constantly (nor should I, kids should be allowed to experience boredom so they play imaginatively.)
It’s kids dumped in pushchairs with a phone that horrifies me. Kids allowed unrestricted access (and ALL their mates have that bar one or two…) if you’re letting them have a bit of screen time, not crazy amounts, and keeping them grounded in the real world, I think that’s ok

VPN restrictions incoming.
Get a fucking VPN provider and Tor now.

Text: "We will make further statements in July about VPNs and further restrictions"

Any British Kiwi's who aren't technologically retarded should start writing guides for those who are ASAP. This is going to get really fucked up really quickly, just like @Null warned all of you retards who are still stubbornly holding out for no fucking reason. This shit is not going to stop in the UK, so get to warning your international friends as well. The Internet is fucking doomed.

Where’s the info about connecting via Tor?
I'm sure there was a guide somewhere...
If you're on a PC, either use the Tor browser (from https://www.torproject.org/download/ ), or you can use Brave browser which has a Tor mode on desktop. There's probably others.
On android, you can grab Tor browser from the play store (for now): I think iPhone users have to use Orbot but it's while since I looked.

Once you've got the software, fire it up, give it a minute to wheedle out a route, and go to kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojhmqruw2nit3uejrpiagrxeuxiyxcyd.onion/

It's OK, he said this at the G7;

“Very many times on my political journey, people have said to me, ‘It’s not possible.’. They said it’s not possible to turn the Labour Party around. It’s not possible to win an election. It’s not possible, if you do win an election, to invest in your public services and stabilise the economy. Wrong every time.”

Utterly fucking insane, like deluded levels. Nigga, the Labour Party is going to die! One leader got elected on a minuscule voter share and toppled the entire uni-party. On top of that, Farage is having collective mental breakdowns because he knows he is trapped by the own web he spun. He cannot go left because the centrists and right will go to Restore. He cannot go right because he is just a shit Restore. The political theatre at the moment is exquisite, because all this can be overturned, if Burnham decides to go with this Panharmonicon, it is electoral suicide.

What is thing called TOR? How does it work?

On topic: While Honest John had his kilt on for the fitbaw, the Deputy Scottish First Minister Jenny Gilruth thought it would be quite the spiffing idea to show her solidarity with the oppressed pakis in NI by putting on an ill fitting headscarf to attend evening prayers in Belfast.

Oh yeah in case you are not familiar. That is Jenny Gilruth. A modern studies teacher . Married to Kezia Dugdale [former Labour MSP and head of the John Smith Institute] The pair of them are truly odious, and, yes, I have met both her and her wife. She [Jenny] is quite the nippy sweetie. Known as the Sargon of Scottish politics and she is a "wee star."

Trust me it gets worse. If you have an X account I am sure you will agree the public sentiment was not very favorable.

It is more about Keir Starmer wanting a win. The reality is, this policy is extremely popular. And with his aprroval in the gutter he will grab for anything to help him out.
77% of parents support a ban on social media for under-16s

Other than the obligatory clip of Sir Humphrey, YouGov polls aren't the best indication of anything, tbh, as it is opt-in online polling, and adjust the weighting afterwards.

If you're struggling to remember that you can always check the KiwiFarms telegram or just attempt to access it from the normal URL and it should automatically forward. It's advisable to use a VPN as well as Tor.

What the hell is 'Modern Studies'

Modern studies is a bunk subject they offer for National Fives, the Scottish equivalent of GCSEs.

A long time ago the Scottish education system was really good. Very, very different to that of in England and not necessarily in a bad way (with the exception of the sectarian school system on the West coast, which allows for separate Protestant and Catholic schools: the hatred of one another bought over in the Irish diaspora is beneficial to the SNP so they allow it to flourish).

Here's a link to the SQA page about it.

I had no idea Dugdale was a lesbian. I knew about Ruth Davidson, but had no clue Dugdale was a dyke. Makes sense why Wee Kranky so despises both of them though, she's a closeted lesbian if ever I laid eyes on one.

Well I typed it all in now *sigh*
Bizarre to be sneeding from a PC with a keyboard and everything.

It's advisable to use a VPN as well as Tor.
I'm doing that, but why? Does using Tor automatically put you on a list?

And why wouldn't the VPN itself work around the forthcoming China style Great British Firewall, presuming that is happening?

I read that and I'm still none the wiser. So it's just politics? Or is it some other bullshit they offer so they can pretend they're actually teaching and get that tax money without actually teaching?
Tbh it's a lot like the stuff my Grandad used to teach me. About making sense of media, understanding bias (on a Sunday, he would buy two newspapers, one tabloid and one broadsheet; he had no loyalty, any papers would do). He'd then pick an article from each about the same thing and we'd read them together, he'd get me to focus on differences in how they wrote about it,consider who wrote it, who funds the newspaper, that sort of thing. Those were good times), why shit was going on.

It's basically like you say, a tax fiddle. It's also a way of giving teaching jobs to trained teachers who are pretty useless, and it's filling in the gaps some parents fail to fill in themselves. Shit like this needs to be taught by parents.
