Capcom’s Pragmata is officially out today, and, by all accounts, the game itself is pretty great. To celebrate its release, Capcom and Twitch have partnered up to offer Pragmata fans a chance to earn an official “Cryana” Twitch Chat Badge, but several folks online are already accusing said badge of being a reference to a pedophile dog whistle meme that is “typically associated with loli characters.”

Announced by the Pragmata X account late last night, the Twitch Chat Badge has been dubbed the “Cryana” badge by Twitch and Capcom, with “Cryana” being a reference to Pragmata’s android protagonist, Diana, who has the appearance of a young girl. Following the post on X, hundreds of users immediately began accusing Capcom of referencing a meme known as “Uohhhhhhhhh!”

“I can’t believe Capcom is uooohposting in their marketing,” commented one user on X. “This confirms 100% that it’s pedo bait. No more excuses can be made,” replied another. “This badge is a reference to a popular meme about enjoying cartoon child porn,” replied content creator Lance McDonald, alongside a link to the Know Your Meme “Uohhhhhhhhh!” page.

For context, the Uohhhhhhhhh! meme, or “uoh” as it’s often known in shorthand, is a reference to an infamous post on X, back when it was still called Twitter, in which a user replied with several crying emojis on a post featuring an image of a child. The user was banned, but the incident became a meme, spreading first on 4chan. As a result, several emotes on Twitch featuring underage anime women crying began popping up in reference to it.

It is more than possible that Capcom’s marketing team is unaware of the connotations surrounding the reference and just thought turning Diana into a sobbing emoji would be a funny fit. That being said, Pragmata has had issues with certain fans sexualizing the game’s infantile protagonist in the past. A subreddit geared toward erotic images and discussions of Diana was banned from Reddit in February.

Capcom did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Lol ‘it’s not on archive.today so it doesn’t exist!’

Called that too, so easy

Yeah back to not being worth quoting
Okay, so you used the most obscure method of "archiving" things purely to win an internet argument. You then withheld this information and accused me of deflection after I explained what I viewed as the general sentiment of rest of the comments. I'm sure you didn't do this after I called you out, using a method that has no way to actually verify when something was archived.
You are clearly very smart and not just looking for easy dunks.
Ok then have it be their heads next to each other or the kid giving a thumbs up or something
Again, far too much in far too small of dimentions. Keep in mind that badges cap out at 72x72px and they need to as small as 18x18px.

There's also the possibility that they really wanted to make a shitty pun. Diana. Cryana.

Well yeah, because after I realized you failed at finding a really easy to find post I was dealing with an amazingly gullible person so I wanted to have some fun with it. Because you were obviously never going to argue in good faith and just deflect and move goalposts and continue to die on the hill that animefags don’t goon to lolis ever or defile crying emojis no it’s nawt truuuu Keiji Inafune just thought Roll’s panties were KAWAII!!! 😭

Look, I'm gonna back this up since obviously I shouldn't just talk shit.

Here's the Marvel vs. Capcom designer's tweets.

EDIT: Much of it is still up, though I think the one where he literally tried the usual sex assault stats cope was deleted. I really thought it was archived.

EDIT 2: Ah ha, here.

Yeah and, historically, Obsidian was the studio that make Fallout New Vegas.
Speaking of games that mysteriously garnered a fandom of mentally ill people.

Fallout New Vegas is the perfect virtual outlet for the accumulated trauma of modern trans experience. (Speaking from a transfeminine perspective but I’d imagine much of this applies to other trans people as well) You can make a character, (including gender) fight against regressive facists, (Caesar’s legion) and meet plenty of other LGBT people along the way that are actually well rounded characters! Most of the LGBT people in this game, you wouldn’t even know they were LGBT unless you took the time to talk to them and get to know them. Your character can be canonically gay or bi with the use of certain perks too! Most importantly, the world and its major factions are ambivalent enough to be believable. Of course we hate the legion! They would kill us given the chance, but NCR isn’t perfect either... They exploit their workers, they’re xenophobic and imperialistic. House is a dictator just like Caesar, right? Well... maybe you hate autocracy, but House seems benevolent and has the best interest of humanity in mind. You could ultimately side with yourself and play God with the wasteland. Why not? Even in this virtual world where we are allowed to be ourselves, for many of us much more than in the everyday world, we can also be Gods! People listen to us, our actions have meaning and consequences that feel plausible. That’s why I think trans people in particular love this game. Honestly it is a work of art that all should appreciate, but trans people through our heightened need for self integration just to justify and understand our existence, develop a greater appreciation of art. That is why trans people love New Vegas.

Now that the game is out, I'm gonna ask this again in hopes that there even is an answer at all:
Is there an in-universe explanation for the mere existence of androids that are made to look like realistic children? Is it like an "A.I." thing, i.e. replacements for real kids?
I think Screamers also had realistic robot children who were specifically designed and built to trick people, but I doubt something like that is going on here.

Still pedos cried over it being censored and then that led to normal people going "huh that's odd but kinda pointless" to get roped in the same boat by twitter/reddit mob types.
“Normal people”. Ok bud. “Gee I don’t have a dog in this race but shouldn’t people be able to creep on the little girl model?”

but I guess Japanese entertainment has to get with modern audiences.
Interesting. Yeah, as a rule, I don't trust screencaps since it literally takes 30 seconds to edit a webpage.
Smugposting downplaying pedobait. I, for one, am totally fooled by your aloof attitude and don’t buy for a second you’re defending your own proclivities. You shouldn’t neck yourself because you’re obviously fine around children.

I suppose the reason they give is that the guy who created the Pragmata was looking for a cure for his sick daughter and they were his test subjects. I don't know if it was explained why they also HAD to look like little girls, because why would you intentionally create a childlike guinea pig for experimentation, but I didn't really catch all the details. I don't think they were ever supposed to replace his actual daughter.
