This actually doesn't surprise me all that much. Pokémon Battle sims are niche, especially since that's all there is to do in the game. Meanwhile...

I think the truth is not many people really like competitive stuff. Champions is ok, but I fail to see how it would be fun for someone not too...

Why? Competitive games are extremely niche compared to cozy slow life games. Especially pokemon competitive games.
