Kill Team is probably the best for casual playing nowadays, I think? Necromunda and Mordheim being close seconds.

Blood Bowl is their best ruleset and, like many of the specialist games, doesn't need many models to get started.

Mordheim, since it's the closest I'd get to a TTRPG since I don't care for minis. Failing that, Necromunda.
