Yes or a hybrid inverter (as used with solar) but just use it as a giant UPS.
Those tend to be sold in 5kWh chunks, but the price per kWh is more...

Just get like 6 deep cycle batteries and an inverter than can auto switch off grid when power drops. Tada four hours of battery back up.

Doesn't help, you still need a UPS to cover the multiple-seconds between the power going out and the generator starting up. My $750 UPS is also...
