It's actually not too bad. No plastic-like coating that the kraft "cheese" seems to have (I'm not talking about the wrapper).

It's better. At the end of the day, American cheese is just a mild cheddar and colby mix with added citrates, which is what makes it melt well...

Yes, much better than kraft. It almost approaches real cheese status.
