That angry ex-carpenter's video barely got 4k views in a week and a huge number of comments are against Jeet Averageson. It had some decent drama in it and even got an angry reply from Jeet so I'm surprised at the low view count.

Meanwhile it looks like Burt, whether you love him or hate him, is a consistent khantent machine.

Unless they're going to go gangbusters with theming or have some unique selling point it doesn't seem like a new season has that many people waiting in excitement.

Speaking of which, if they were to do a season after their reorganization would it be quite soon or do people think it's still going to be a while?

It won't be until next fall, if it happens at all. The low view count on the carpenter's video is because the fans are moving on. The roasting of Jeet Averageson in the comments is because people blame him for the show blowing up, as they should, as he's the one who (failed to) plan Season 4.

Officially titled "The Fishtank Treatise Part I" (credit to @mister fireworks for the name idea) the work is basically a micro exploration of what content is and how it can be identified. It is 92 pages and ~40k words, representing a small portion of what I have written up for the past two years.

Under the framework I've written up, the work treats content as an object with definable properties. I attempt to separate mundane actions from discernable pieces of content. From there, content is split into three major criteria depending on the properties it has and how it derives its entertainment value. Lots of new terms and definitions I make in order to get the point across.

I should say that this work is analytical and theory-dense. I'm not commenting on the show or writing a review, this is a full-fledged theoretical framework. Kind of like economic analysis but for something as useless as Fishtank. Editing was a pain in the ass, and I went through like three different revisions in the past month alone so sorry it took so long. Part I does not focus on any specific season, it is almost entirely about what content is since content is the foundational axiom of the framework that's been built.

I hope it's enjoyable or at least coherent. I'm going to take a long nap now.

I pretty much wrote a Bloodgames quest for my Sora series. The story was actually my idea and not AI generated. I was just really bored last night.

What I’m missing here are examples. As a Fishtank autist I was hoping for an application of these ideas to, you know, the show, and obviously you have those moments because you used them for research, so what’s all this “Fish 1” “Fish A” shit? Give examples. As an aside, I’m not sure what good a “mathematical formula” to rank fish really is to anybody. Have been looking forward to this and love effortposting but this might be trending towards schizophrenic delusion. You’re developing the equivalent of a formula to determine what good art is. I know what content is, you know what content is, and I’m not sure a theoretical framework is possible let alone helpful. You are attempting to keep in a jar what can’t be trapped and will die in captivity.

I don't envy whoever has to edit an ending to that mess. When re-watching the digests for Season 3 the drop in my own enthusiasm to keep watching was drastic once they got to the RV shit. There are some decent moments there but it lacks structure in the worst way. I don't think an episode of 'then they do random shit' will be very interesting. They do kind of stick the landing with Burts ending so maybe they could just leave in enough context to build up to that.
They should have had episodes out by now though this is fucking dumb.

Completely fair. The abstraction for part I is intentional since it's all about the most basic definitions, mechanics, and edge cases of the framework. The examples are neutral so they can be applied leanly across all seasons.

Casts vary in composition, and introducing actual fish names this early actually created more confusion during the drafting stage. I actually cut off Part I before introducing different types of fish. In the final sections I start dropping actual names of Fish and arcs, which is meant to be a hint of, "things to come."

If it helps: I already have the analysis of Seasons 1-3 written out, they're just off in the future.

yes I know this is two weeks old but I don't want to rerun the scraper until some time around December 15th. I've been sitting on this for some time waiting for a reason to do a post

This is what the active community looks like as of Season4 -> End of Battlechat, the "join date" and "last seen" charts are almost identical and our scraping runs S3 and S4 so this is a good yardstick for how many those two seasons brought in as new accounts on the site. This is S1 and S2 after a year and a half or two years attrition. S3 had the least amount of accounts join during its season and we'll see how many S4 are retained at the end of S5 which will likely dominate the next chart.

yay! i cant wait to read it! I have never experienced the almost druglike high of watching (and being in the kf chat) season 4 live without actual drugs and I'm glad I had previous season watches to help me taper off after it went down in flames. I felt like a junkie being totally cut off their supply and the withdrawals were... like real withdrawals! I'm glad you took the time to write it all and i am stoked to talk about it in the chat once i finish!

Also jesus christ its like Jin was some sort of test tube baby where they selected for the worst traits of both parents. the bottom half of his face is dumpy white guy, his hairline and hair in general is awful asian genes where it looks like he is balding even if he isnt and has probably looked that way since he was a teenager. his eyes are some sort of genetic smoothie that makes him look dazed and ethnic in the worst ways possible. On top of that every time i see his streams mentioned its just him droning on about fishtank shit while walking around alone. at least the girls have a couple pay pigs to throw them shekels who is even watching let alone superchatting this faggot?
