Have you tried taping around your dominant hand? Use tape around the nail and peel it off when done. And always do that one first.

Keep your hands flat to the table when you paint them. I like wide brushes because then your motion only really needs to be a bit of up and down...

Hate to tell you this but practice practice practice. lol. If you do your own nails often enough, your non-dominant hand will get better at it...
