James Gunn seems to really like the "found family" trope. "Your biological family/original creator is bad, your friends are your real family!"

It'll be interesting when Zod shows up and he's on the side of Jor-El and supes has to go hard against his bloodline.

Probably because any criticism would be dismissed as Snyder fans being buttmad over the movie.

I found the ending bit with the Kents very heartwarming so I didn't think about it too hard but yeah in hindsight I very much did not like it...
