Really, the main issue with the current flag isn't that it's ugly, necessarily. Official seals just aren't great vexillogical elements, at least...

Tbh, I like the redesign that is just the old flag, but with the red and blue stripes on the side and the removal of "ILLINOIS" below the seal...
