Personally, I'd probably play the PS2 version, and then play the 3DS version in a few years.

I finished the PS2 version but haven't gone back to do the 3DS version. I'd suggest the 3DS one to be honest, but, it's a hard sell either way.

3DS is censored, if you don't care then unless you're a graphics whore the 3DS seems the way to go.

I prefer the soundtracks and Jessica's VA of the original. I wish they'd just hurry up and rerelease it sometime, it's the best one

I always prefer the version with more content over the version with better presentation so I prefer the 3DS version.
