Toriyama’s narrative art was not the best during his lifetime. Remember Vegeta's SSG transformation which was never explained in Dragon Ball Super.

It's touted as Toriyama's final contribution to Dragon Ball, so I can only assume he at least outlined the plot, including shit like Namekians...

from what I understand he wrote the whole thing this time like he did on the last couple movie scripts. that said, I kinda like the demon thing...
