I was always under the assumption that snipers were meant to be high risk/high reward kind of characters. So I never saw that as a problem...

Actually the counterplay is to pick a character that counters them (Genji, Tracer, D.Va, Winston). Overwatch has 23 characters for a reason...

The counterplay for snipers is to fucking get behind them. Widow and Hanzo can't do shit to Genji or Reaper up close.
