Mario 3 isn't broken. I find it unplayable because the boss levels are tedious and the normal levels are so short it feels like Mario world's...

I was talking games like Bart vs The Space Mutants, TMNT, and Strider, which are basically unplayable due to a mix of bad design and bad code...

Mayan Adventure is pretty solid, especially the Sega CD version. The "enhanced" sounds and music add a good deal.
